if it works for you fair enough, however the lates version of automap wasnt out when i had it which may explain a few things, typical these days, bring something out before it works properly. i may have kept it if hat version was out and working, still well happy with my pcr800

I haven't been able to get this to work with my own SL (a 25)Omniphonix wrote: I don't get what you mean by "didn't map properly". I have Automap 3.0 (Universal) loaded on my SL and it works like a charm. I put it in learn mode, move a control on my plugin, move a control on my SL, and it maps. Then I can save that mapping as the default and it will control any instance I bring up in any host. I was even able to copy the .automap in the default Mappings directory to another computer and use my custom map on another computer. In fact, the only funky issue I have run into is, I have to close the Automap Server before I can close Cubase because it runs as a ReWire client.
I ran the updates fine, controls reason alright, but I cannot get it to control some of my plugins within FL without going through the standard midi setup route.
Pretty annoying.
I'd like to get started

Have you wrapped some plugins with the plugin manager? You have to wrap them which creates an (Automap) version of the plugin in your host. Then you can use Template 38 to learn and control them via Automap Universal. I have a problem from within Live 6 where if I select the track in Live, my Remote SL doesn't set itself up to control. However, if I use the Remote itself to choose the track that holds the VST, it works perfectly. Could this be the problem some people are having?

I think you are confusing Live Automap with Automap Universal. Template 40 is the automap template for Live, Template 38 is the automap template for plug-in universal. Use Template 38 to control plugins by clicking the A icon in the wrapper, use Template 40 to control the Live mixer.zerocrossing wrote:I have a problem from within Live 6 where if I select the track in Live, my Remote SL doesn't set itself up to control. Thanks for assuming I didn't.Omniphonix wrote: RTFM
I have in fact, read the f**king manual. Its still not communicating properly. I am using the Automap.dll plugins, and they even SEND info to the SL (Ie : after clicking the target icon, i move the cutoff, and the slider previously assigned to cutoff lists the value changes in the LCD, but moving the slider doesn't send effect the plugin)
Its like the SL isn't sending data.
And yes, I already have all ports forwarded and have tried using different combinations to see if it helped. Alas, no A-U for me.

Ouch, well that sucks. Sorry, I usually assume an unread manual when there is lack of detail in the problem description. Well, I guess its time to talk to Nocvation support. The one time I had to e-mail them, they were quite helpful.datapark wrote:Thanks for assuming I didn't.Omniphonix wrote: RTFM

Any news yet on people getting it to work in FL Studio? Thinking of buying one soon and would really like to know if it works. Am I right in thinking that because it doesn't use CC you have a higher controller resolution i.e. its not limited to 128?

That is something I would like to know as well. It would seem you can get higher resolution because you can set the stepping in the Automap wrapper. I would think the plugin has to support this though...Johnny Cherry wrote:Any news yet on people getting it to work in FL Studio? you know what i think, people who have have had the sense to take it back because it doesnt work properly dont like it for obvious reasons, those who didnt love it as they dont want to admit it doesnt work properly and are kidding themselves because if the do admit its crap they will have wasted a lot of money... take it back and save yourselves and lot of stress
