Despite having developed an annoying habit of doing some reviews, and then not getting around to the rest (the joys of an inconvenient life), I'll give this another shot and offer some quick comments.

Former Pharaoh - ABCDEFGHIJKLMONPQRSTUVWXYZ -> Speedy and alphabetical.

Psy-T - So Slow -> Energetic (aside from the intro, 'natch). I probably would have put the vocal a bit farther back but with less reverb.

Cyrosis - Poniard -> Clever silent movie soundtrack, some very lovely moments.

beanpole - Lets Go Fast -> I can visualize the motorcycle whipping down a curving highway. Drums need more punch for me. Nice end.

nikp2000 - Train Song -> Kraftwerk taking the train instead of the highway? Very mellow groove for a 'speed' song, but I like it.

farlukar - Shift -> It shifts all over the place. Interesting sound/pace variations (I like the 0:35 moment), but I'm not getting a sense of speed.

streifentier - Fade Out -> Lovely sounds, nice pace, very pleasant piece.

Chris Walton - Almighurt -> I like the jazzy/bluesy feel, nice sounds, cool piece.

m_luhtala - If I Add Some Speed? -> I was expecting it to burst out at a much more rapid pace at 0:16 or 0:44 (it would have worked nicely, imo). As is, I like it, but seems a little slower than it could have been.

Zombie Queen - Catch That Flea! -> Energetic, nice instrumentation, nicely varied, interesting composition.

JacK_SoliuM - Intestinal Chorizo And Menstrual Ketchup -> Scary title, scary sounds, death metal chase music for a horror flick (except for the applause at the end).

core - bugs -> Part of the soundtrack for a new Disney Pixar animated feature? Lovely sounds, nicely evocative, very nicely done. Perhaps a bit mellow for the theme.

mellotronaut - Ancient Chairs -> Fast, glitchy, and weird. A speedy wild ride with a slightly abrupt end.

1-2-Many - Frantic Romantic (Don't Wanna Be) -> Like the vocoder. :tu: Love this kind of cheese, myself.

me109 - Fast! -> Ooh, nice speedy jazzy lounge singing. Love the piano, the whole piece is lovely. You went so fast you messed up the filename.

gag3 - Giant Steps -> Interesting. Nicely played. Hard to get Coltrane's horn out of my head, though, and that's a tough thing to compare with.

You could always post some to this thread, just to share, if you wanted.

My fav until now. Many interesting things in other tracks, but when it comes to speeeeeeeeeeeed (ie complying to this month theme) this one makes the difference.

Some people did the choice to make speed rythms on "rather" slow tempos while Psy-T choose to take a very fast tempo. Sometimes making it simple just works. At least for me.

Cant participate this month because lack of time :?

Ixox - I woke up too late -> The brass (especially the tuba) paints an image of rushing elephants for me, an amusing idea. Fast in a slow way.

Thanks for the comments and the warning. I pm'd Markleford and got permission to fix the file name and now it's OK.

I did take it at 290 bpm just like Mr. Coltrane. That should have some weight in a contest of speed:-)

More quickie comments:

Patrick9 - Morocco Bound -> Chaotic and exotic. Going fast but kind of standing still (ie. I'm not getting a tune or sense of progression, more of a tone or mood). Technical note: incomplete filename.

shrikantprabhu - Whistling Meadows -> Not getting so much a sense of speed as a sense of depth (as in, the percussion sounds a bit like small depth charges). Sound feels a bit dense (as in, a solid mass). Technical note: file name error (it's June).

folderol - Not So Fast -> Going slow and steady in a race. Leisurely and relaxing, though not enough time to establish that mood completely (the time limitations being what they are).

Thanks Echo for the little review. Rushing elephant ? :-o :D why not...
I hope the flute make the whole a little lighter.
