ha ha, cheers ... i'm going through a bit of a word-making-up phase at the moment actually ( I thought assistophiles was not too bad as well! ) ... Over the last week, I got a load of guys organised to support my old punk band on a radio poll ..... very successful it was .... there was an element of spamming, and it was a campaign .. so from now on it is referred to as the 'spampaign' ...

OK, go google and shatter my illusions ... its been done before hasn't it? It's not as brilliant as I thought, is it? ... Boo hoo!!!!!

just posted my entry. been working on it all day inbetween uni work

heres the link to 'i only eat oatmeal' (yeah bit of a crap title...!)

its kind of a slow groove of a dance tune - didn't really intend it to come out the way it did but i just went with it...

i used 9 instances of oatmeal in Reaper.

There is a little automation - some lfo filter work and when alternating between a closed and open hihat sound. i used 2 instances of reacomp (it is available as a free plug) for some sidechaining and 3 instances of the freeware W1 limiter. all the effects are oatmeals own. all the patches i programed myself except the distorted lead sound that comes in at around 2 minutes - this was nicked from one of the excellent nolwenn banks.

I just uploaded a track "boiling oats" I made when Oatmeal literally first was released. 100% Oatmeal in FL Studio (6 instances IIRC)...

Hey ho!!! ... sorry, I've been away on planet Synthedit creating a nice little sample sequencer/gate thingy!

Yeah, may the 6th is the deadline! which means, I call things to a close early on May the 7th ( in the UK ) ... when I'm sure theres no-where on the planet where it is still the 6th of May!

So thats another two tracks in?? cool!

... so anyway, two days to go .... and a little bit extra if you're west of where I am!

.... So plenty time olicana!

Hi Rob, I'll post a poll on the 7th of May, and it'll have a 7 day time limit.
So, making allowances for time zone differences, the winner will be announced on 15th of May.

litterally last minute job. (btw tattie i uploaded the wav first by mistake..u can delete it)

here's the text
olicana cover of depeche mode's last bit of "enjoy the silence" .
in this short demo my aim was to showcase some synth choirs and oatmeal's all round versatility.
as my analog needs are better covered by another synth the accent was put on digitalish sounds.
a total of 10 instances were used. all sounds made from scratch.
no added effects apart from a compressor "fast soft compressor" by chris budde. and buzzmaxi3 limiter on the output.
nothing else.
every instance was bounced to audio tracks as i composed it on my netbook.
there are some rough cuts...it was a quick last minute job.
i hope u enjoy anyway..the silence and the oatmeal
