I doubt that's necessary? Considering the Kaos Pad has lighted touch-screen sensitive Squares that light up not a standard XY Target Grid. To me it looks maybe 70% like a actual Kaos Pad. I wouldn't worry to much about Korg getting on your case about the GUI anyway. If anything Korg might get a little iffy when they find out it actually functions just like a Kaos Pad? It really is like a Virtual Kaos Pad. I own a real own and to be honest it really could replace the hardware to a great extent. I got to give you Props Well Done!Ja.x wrote:@ Zio
Still another advice: maybe you should also consider to make some changes on the GUI, etc, or I wouldn't be surprised if soon you will have the korg's legal department messing with you.
ShakePad is out now!

You're talking about the Kaoss Pad, not the mini-kaoss, aren't you? This is the actual mini-kaoss:BFunKu wrote:I doubt that's necessary? And the question here is not that it makes sense or not, but the chance of a bunch of lawyers to give a hard time to someone. Did really Grok 02SM look like exactly like an actual MS20?
Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

Hey Guido,
Will one of the presets have the runaway Echoplex effect? I had written you via email about whether you might eventually do an Echoplex emulation. I purchased a Mini-Kaoss pad to use live for just this effect, although it doesn't really sound like a real Echoplex. I think it's preset # 63 or 64 on the Mini-Kaoss pad. Having a way to do this in the studio (especially if it has the Echoplex sound) would be great!
Thanks!

Actually then ROLAND would also go haywire about the Space Echo Delay/Reverb unit that Guido offers on his page. Then again the knobs are differently set up and there a sliders while there were knobs on the UAD version for example.BFunKu wrote:If anything Korg might get a little iffy when they find out it actually functions just like a Kaos Pad? But seriously.. suing over a skin design is like forbidding a keyboard design. There are so many emulations out there now, stuff that comes close, stuff that is far from it but "looks" like the real deal. Seriously... such firms should rather catch up the devs and let them code VSTi for them.
I still wait for the day that somebody is like "I unlocked the Kurzweil Code, and I'm working on a VSTi with VAST techology - and because I'm bored, also on an FX only version ". Seriously, I'd never use anything else anymore if that'd happen.
I can dream, can't I?
Looking forward to that pad though. Always wanted a KORG KAOS Pad. Now if Guido would only create a MIDI X/Y controller (or multi X/Y pad) where I can create some crazy modulation with MIDI CCs and stuff, this would be just as great. Never got used to the "Insert Piz Here" X/Y pad, the one from Smartelectronix (Bram if I remember correctly) never saw an update after it's initial release back in Cubase VST times, and that SynthEdit thing from Angular Momentum simply doesn't work (only looked good).

Ok, this may be the final version: ShakePad_Beta_09062201.zip
I've added the +/- navigation buttons, a few corrections here and there.
If no one reports bugs while I'm writing the manual, this remains the release build.
Thank you all for your precious help!

Hi Guido,
the latest version is indeed fully stable. No crashes yet! However patches 37-43 (looper and scratch FX) doesn't seem to work. Either I don't understand how they work or they simply don't, because there's absolutely no sound at all when using those patches.
Other than that it's a cool product. Will sure buy when you release it.
Cheers,
bM3w

Yes, I was talking about the regular Kaos Pad sorry.Ja.x wrote:You're talking about the Kaoss Pad, not the mini-kaoss, aren't you? This is the actual mini-kaoss:BFunKu wrote:I doubt that's necessary? Those effects rely on the host tempo. Is your host providing a running clock and a tempo value? There are hosts (like EnergyXT 1.4) that need to click PLAY to run the sync.bM3w wrote:However patches 37-43 (looper and scratch FX) doesn't seem to work. zio; bug/crash: ext1.x, mapped the x to CC4 and y to CC5, started using my remote sl 61 xy pad screwing around with shakepad's initial setting, everything was fine for a minute, then just crash, some C++ error and abort|ignore|retry buttons.
i can give you the full score via PM if you need.

Anybody want to proof read my short 7 pages manual?... I think I'm ready for the release, but I'd like to know what caused a crash to gymmjack...
