Here are some of my comments/thoughts :

Comforting Song (cover) - dwsel :
Lovely lead sound mutant sax/string, nice stand up bass-sound too.

Complexity - HiEnergy :
"This tune was prototyped in Cognitone MPS/Synfire Pro" <- what does this mean ?
Nice tempochanges, great melodies, good sound design and... a bit of pachelbel : which I like, it somehow creeps into a lot of my own tracks ;)

FREAKS_OF_NATURE-Mac_of_BIOnighT :
Spooky/creepy beginning, nice change, I like the tempo, got that 1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2 feel, good concept.
Too short !

Io - V'ger :
Great sounddesign here, absolutely fabulous intro to something even more amazing... that did't come :(
Please finish this and PM me the link ;)

James0Tucson - deofaropario :
Yes I agree, with everybody else, that flute is great, sound and playing, it evolves into a chello here and there, which is also great, nice backing too.

No_StringZ_attached - HiEnergy :
Guitar/organ/bass all sound very nice, solid slow melodic piece.

Jam_in_F_Minor--mrblitz000 :
That Honkytonk piano part is great! I almost understood what was happening :)

Stringz_Expressions-GilJ :
Wow, old Cure, reverse strings, vocally sounds, percussion, lots of stuff happening, nice track !
Too short !

Underdog--mrblitz000 :
Barpiano feel of an old western, some nice melodies in there, as always I get completely lost during listening.

Strung up - tattiemannie :
Happy tattie, great complex melodic interchanging, GREAT BASS-sound and playing: job well done !

waiting-room - Objectman :
Nice flutey/brassy sounds (well chosen presets) good composition (title/concept: Genesis ?)

I liked all the tracks, for different reasons, and they all had that StringZ feeling to them.
Meaning : most of the time you make a sound to fit the track, this time the synth somehow dictated the track.
(At least for me it did).

As for the votes :

Stringz_Expressions-GilJ : 5
Strung up - tattiemannie : 3
Io - V'ger : 2
FREAKS_OF_NATURE-Mac_of_BIOnighT : 1

And again a big thanks to everone who voted :D

Actually, this sounds very logical and reasonable... I'm sure that's the right explanation. And since we're all the same person, you all will agree with us. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

I use a software called Synfire Pro for "planning" my tunes. It basically allows you to design a piece of music like an automobile designer plans the design of a new car using a CAD software.
The intermediate result of the process of prototyping is a midifile that gets further refined, orchestrated and produced using a DAW. For these steps I use Ableton Live.

Synfire Pro makes composing music a much easier process while leaving you in full control.

OK, wont manage to get my votes in quite yet, I know where I'm going, but I want to finish writing the reviews first, and would have done so had I not spent way too much time trying to get that pic of mac out of my head!!!! :-o .... I only wish the water I'm plunging my head into was as cold!! :hihi:

So, I'll leave the reviews for now and do a count up ... if my arithmetic fails me, blame mac! :hihi:

I can only imagine how hard it must be for you guys to control your envy...
:hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

... oh, but before I do the count up, here's the deal.... that pic will appear on the StringZ e-album if I am not sent a decent selection of images from your good selves to use instead! ... you have been warned! :hihi:

I can send you a close up for that purpose, if you want... that thought should get everybody scared enough to send you even their credit cards :P :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

It costs A$1,247
:-o
EDIT: Here's a $30 generative thing-a-ma-jig which looks like a bit of fun.

( Total Voters: 14, Total Votes: 154 )

'Marmite' stretches further into what now must be an unassailable lead ... feel free to prematurely congratulate is what I say!
Looks like an interesting battle is shaping up between 2nd and 3rd places held strongly by 'Io' and 'Expressions' with only 1 point between them!
Perhaps equally interesting is the battle between the flasher and the transvestite for 4th place, and their appropriately named tracks 'freaks of nature' and 'strung up' .... ! :-o Only one point seperates them, and if anyone has the power to do so, please seperate them further, and quickly for everyones sake!! :hihi:
A gap has opened up behind those two, and I doubt if anyone in their right mind want to get closer, but hey, as I say, you never know .... the prizes are maybe just cool enough to make it worth while closing the gap
