I see you're in England. How did you manage to buy it? Several countries are missing from the list including the UK and Sweden, so I can't buy it :(

Edit: I found you can change the region using a link at the top of the page. The synth is €20 as well, which is about US$ 25.

Ahhh i hate cakewalk... created a user-acc in march(for raputre)

and now "No user account was found for..."

horrible! and now creating again a new user acc, and choice for country - germany not listed! I feel my defintiv punked by cakewalk! :D

Post

I had that problem. You need to set the region correctly first, or it won't find your user account. It's a little confusing.

Very nice synth though, with this and RhinoCM I feel like I've added two bargains to my synth collection recently!

Post

But there are no european country's for choice so i can't set it correctly.

My "old" user account(crerated 3 months ago) was filled in with germany, but at the login cakewalk says that for this email is no account founded.
Then i created a new user acc with the same email(but now i living in alaska^^) and what i see there in the registration history? My raputre.... WTF Cakewalk?
Really! Strange Price-changes, no support ansers, erased-but-than-don't-erased user accounts....

Defintiv my last by at Cakewalk! :x

When you've clicked the link in the first post of this thread, immediately click "Change Region" at the top without doing anything else first. Then click your region (Europe (EUR). It will change to the start page, and there you can find Z3TA+ for €19.99 instead of $19.99. Now the European countries will be visible in the list.

I didn't have an account since before, and I was unable to select Sweden from the list when registering, until I changed the region.

EDIT: You'r going to want to use the instructions given in the download AND then these instructions to install the Virus MOD.

http://sonar.sonarama.com/index.php?tit ... edirect=no

There are LOTS of sets of instructions for this, but this set finished the installation for me. Note that you check the Half Saw wave to make sure it installed properly.

Most of the instructions mention the Windows XP folder structure. For Vista, you'll need to find these folders in the Program Files/Cakewalk/Z3ta directory and the ProgramData/Cakewalk/Z3ta directory (the ProgramData folder is a hidden folder by default).
Thanks for the tip. Although one can just make a folder where the dll is called Programs, stuff the default.fxb bank inside there and that will work without thinking about other paths.

There's a video that explains all one needs for the Virus mod here: http://www.patcharena.com/index.php?opt ... &Itemid=96

The patches might sound crap, but that can be fixed, see here:

pheeleep wrote:Just be aware that with the latest version you can't use the extra banks available on the internet without having to tweak the presets. You have to change the oversampling setting for many of those presets as well as sometimes disable the limiter to hear those presets. I reverted to the older version of Zeta which is not available from Cakewalk. That older version opens all presets just fine.
There is a trick to fix this. Download and install the Demo (which IS version 1.4). Save the bank using that version. The new bank will then work correctly in 1.5.3.

See the four or fifth post down on this link:

Another good tip that works, thx :) Like the poster at CW I installed the demo on antoher machine and loaded and saved all including the Virus bank, and they are all fixed.

Awesome! This is a great purchase for me!

Not because of this synth exactly, even though its a good synth that sounds cool (someone needs to explain the filters to me.. the second filter doesn't seem to do much..) but because it inspired me to start patching Gladiator for the first time from init. oooooo sooo awesomemmmmeeeee

not being a negative nelly or anything but... what do people find so special about z3ta? Being a cheapskate I thought I'd better check the demo out at least and, while I certainly enjoyed myself, I'm not really getting it... Maybe only for the Trance brigades? Lots of impressive presets in that vein but nothing that really blew me away in the pure, basic synth sounds I guesss I tend to use (unlike something like Twin2 or even some of the TAL freeware). Is that fair? Or does the magic lie somewhere else that I may have overlooked..?

Here are some simple written instructions for the Virus z3ta+ mod V2 as there are some differences from the old instructions for previous versions of z3ta+.

==========================

Virus Z3ta+ MOD V2 for z3ta+ 1.5.3

==========================

01. Duplicate your main "z3ta+" folder and its contents into your VSTI location and rename to "Virus z3ta+" or "Virus_z3ta+", etc.

NOTE: All further revisions and addition will now be done in the new Virus z3ta+ folder.

02. Place "z3ta+.dll" at root level in the main Virus_z3ta+ folder and rename to "Virus_z3ta+.dll". Note there is a sub-folder in the main Virus_z3ta+ folder labeled "z3ta+" as well.

03. Create folder labeled "Programs" in main Virus_z3ta+ folder.

04. Extract "default.fxb" to "Programs" from "Bank.zip" located in the "Virus_z3ta+ MOD v2.zip".

05. Extract and overwrite new skin to "Resources" folder from the "Skins.zip" located in the "Virus_z3ta+ MOD v2.zip".

06. Extract and overwrite new arpeggios to "Arpeggio" folder from the "Arpeggio.zip" located in the "Virus_z3ta+ MOD v2.zip".

06. Extract and overwrite new "oscill.set" to "Wavetables" folder from the "Waves.zip" located in the "Virus_z3ta+ MOD v2.zip".

07. Delete "User1-4.pcm" from "Wavetables" folder if they exist.

08. You can also delete redundant "Documentation" folder if you like.

Note: To check for proper installation, confirm sine wave shape when half saw is selected. Load Virus_z3ta+, initialize under "Program" button, select half saw under osc 1, select "Shaper" to confirm sine wave shape.
