Created an ambient track with the AMBIENT app. The track contains three samples, which have been through the AMBIENT machine and sequenced in Cubase 5. Only external FX added is EOS on top of one layer and a LP filter at the very end of the track.
256 KBps MP3. Enjoy!

All I can get is gurgling metallic wind
Can someone help me out please?

Try play with the Grain Pitch and Grain Size, lower the Grain Pitch to some 0.5 and raise the Grain Size to above 4000 for a nice deep drone sound - depending on the sample you loaded of course.spidergod wrote:I must be doing something wrong my end as everyone seems to be creating fantastic pieces of music.

Lovely track there Luftrum - nice contrast between the deep pulsating bass and tinkling piano sounds then a bit of drifting pad - really enjoyed that!Luftrum wrote:Created an ambient track with the AMBIENT app.

I quite like this and I want to love it, but am having problems with the resolution of the knob controls. For example, with the Grain Pitch knob I go from 0 to 0.2105 to 0.4122 to 0.6136 with the tiniest of mouse movements, which creates a very audible stepping. I'm controlling it with my mouse but can you control it any other way? This really would be perfect if the controls were finer or there was something to smooth out these transitions. Could be that I'm just missing something that's already there though.

Here's something I did with heavy use of Ambient mixed in with another ambient track I was working on, but was too lazy to finish. This is some pretty dark shit..

I haven't done any ambient music for ages, but this thing really inspires. I love chucking all my old field recordings and weird sounds I made through this thing..you can create some really interesting textures, especially if you tweak the parameters while recording.

The lack of fine control bothered me a bit too...so I avoid using the Grain Pitch at all while recording. I'd also like to know if there's a way to get fine/smooth control..

Nice track, SolarRain...I prefer darker stuff myself. Listening to that one made me finally go ahead and buy Ambient. Just waiting on the link now.SolarRainUK wrote:

Thanks vespers. Well I think you'll be quite happy with it..That track was seriously dark with only the Ambient mod stuff going on before I added the musical stuff you hear.vespers75 wrote:Nice track, SolarRain...I prefer darker stuff myself. Here's a better example of what you can achieve with Ambient and some subtle tweaking during live recording..Love this thing!

I used the looping, old piano melody at the beginning of this to create the entire track, every sound you hear is that tiny sample at the beginning, processed through Ambient.
The only FX I've used are OtiumFX Sonitex at the start, for the loop, EOS for the reverb, and a lot of EQing.
