Reaktor 5.5 beta!!!!!!!

I hope they don't charge too much for the final Reaktor 5.5, Does someone know it this beta will expire? I fell afraid of using the beta and then not being able to use it in the future for my existing projects.

I think Reaktor is the infinite plugin. Some of the ensembles (lots of them in fact)are just awesome.

The upcoming free Reaktor 5.5 update will bring major enhancements to the software, and is based on a renovated application framework with a new audio bridge and GUI libraries.

Version 5.5 is a free update. Also the beta will expire on the 30th of august, but a new one will be released if the final version isn't ready by then. Read more here: http://www.native-instruments.com/forum ... p?t=114768

@normal, i'm not pissing in the soup(i wouldn't even use such an expression) and i'm very happy about the update and that it's working fine. but from time to time when i find that ni is giving away for free products which i had bought (yeah, even if i had the chance to use them for 1000 years) i feel that ni is more concerned about attracting new customers than caring about their long term followers. if you read my original post i even said that people that didn't have the electronic instruments collections should enjoy them (so much for pissing in the soup)

People already are but there's an important clue in Stephan Schmitt's op:

Some of the most important improvements in Reaktor 5.5 are "under the surface", more than 30% of the code is new. The new version is based on our latest GUI and audio bridge frameworks, so it has a more flexible and robust technological basis. This also brings advantages like a full-screen GUI mode, higher quality of sample rate conversion, and up to 40 audio channels in standalone mode.

Reaktor is their oldest and most complex product with no doubt a lot of legacy code. They have completely rewritten over 30% but I suspect they felt it necessary to go through a transitional version before making the leap to version 6 and no doubt 64 bit.

It also sounds like there might be another 'update' too, which will bring 64bit to R5 (I hope), before R6.

Another important focus for Reaktor 5.5 for us was the documentation. The "application reference" manual has been completely rewritten, and it now also includes a lot of tutorial-style parts. We are also working on a similar new version of the "module reference" manual that will be made available together with the next upcoming Reaktor update that will bring full 64bit compatibility.

I built an ensebmle from scratch (I used no macros etc) with 5.5 during the last few hours and everything works great here.

I really love the new standard controls. Normally I create my own controls with knobman, but I just love the new look.

Yes - a huge improvement - very nice and functional (apart from the text which still needs a facelift)

I've been opening a bunch of the legacy ensembles and even they look so much better (check out the old 6Rev for example)

well, i have managed to sort out my problem

the libraries were not insstalled on my os x leopard machine

so, a right-click to 'show package contents' revealed the 'library' installer...just a double-click and all is good


love the new gui....just the up/dpwn arrows for presets is enough to keep me smiling for a week

is a much 'friendlier' environment to dick around in

all the love to native instruments...best 99 quid i ever spent
