Just listened to the audio demos on the website and it sounds stunning. I'll be buying this in the near future for sure.

Well done Gforce, top job

If you take an fxp preset from V1 and load it into both imposcar 1 and imposcar 2 side by side, you will find that they sound the same, except that the imposcar 2 is MUCH quieter. And I mean a LOT quieter. Which is strange because the original seemed fine.

As for the lack of 64 bit, that is disappointing, since most plug-ins are being converted to 64 bit by now, so a new plug-in should of course already be 64 bit. However this was made about 3 years ago so 64 bit wasn't as common then. Hopefully they don't delay on getting it up to the times though.

GForce Media, doesn't except Paypal or Shareit.
CC only?
That just sucks imo.
Wake up!!!
:x
I qualify for the upgrade special price too.
No paypal or shareit equals MANY lost sales for GForce Media.
I got my original from JRR Shop, but you can only get the upgrade from GForce.
Jon, can you help me out please, I wanna start doing a bank of sounds for this asap.
Hi,

I contacted Chris about this,

Edit : I see he's responded in the thread directly

I'd have to look at the history of updates, but I may have dropped the nominal level by a few dB because all the patch developers were slapping unison on it and then moaning when they got distortion.

64 bit will be looked at as soon as the windows version is released (well I might allow myself a cup of tea and a biscuit first).

The issue with 64 bit isn't the 64 bit part ironically, in fact I suspect that the audio and other main functional parts will probably recompile and run pretty much as is, but Apple chose to drop Carbon and currently that's what's used for the GUI. The library I use for handling graphics has been updated to use cocoa, but it has changed notably and I not only have to change code to work with it but also work out how to port the changes I made to the old library.

That, combined with the fact that if there are any problems with porting the engine code to 64bit they might include some of the monster bugs from hell I've encountered (some of these things were practically sentient, and certainly malicious) means that it just makes sense to get the 32 bit version out there into the world first.

Hopefully it will turn out to be relatively painless, but if it doesn't, I'm sure most people would rather at least have the 32 bit version now

one last thing for now...

I'm now on holiday for a few days, and so I'll be too busy catching up with family and getting to know my super-cute niece to post here till I get back, hope you can forgive me :)

As for the 64 bit, that's good to hear that it'll be looked at right away after releasing the windows version, thanks for letting us know. And I do think it was a wise choice to get the 32 bit version out first for sure. Many hosts still haven't gone 64 bit anyways, like Ableton Live. Glad it's on the radar though.

And by the way, I also think the patch system is good to cater to everyone as you said, I just think the manual could be more thorough about where the files actually live on disc.

With regards to the volume decrease, that makes sense with the unison, however it does make the max volume be rather low now. I've got patch without unison (using V1 patches) where the level is maxed out and I can't find anywhere else to raise the level so I end up have to use a utility device to bring the volume back up. I think the plug-in itself should still have a way to compensate (The Master Level should go higher - if using unison means you have to pull the level down well so be it).

cheers,

Enjoy your vacation!

I agree to that . The solution should have been to use a lower volume setting for the Unison patches (like in most other synths) and not to decrease the overall volume.

Thanks Jon for taking the time to explain this. Makes complete sense.
And it is good to know that you are commited to do a 64 bit version in the future!

Please enjoy a splendid and well deserved holiday!

@Coil - it IS available in 64-bit version.
If you have a paypal account, just get a paypal debit card and use that to buy it. Easy.

I know, right? And almost every factory preset has the Master Volume at Max, yet the overall volume has decreased. Seems to me like for loud unison patches, that's exact;y what the master volume is for. As it is, the patches will never have to be turned down, so it will always be maxed, which kinda makes the max volume useless in way. :?

I'll add my first feature request - Put the levels back where they used to be. Let the Master Level be used for something. ;)

This sounds amazing..I was looking at the sound designers and programmers and I must thank these guys in advance, they are awesome..
