I have to agree, AM seems to be a lot quieter then most of the others. Any way to get a bit more volume out in the next update?

We have received a few comments about the difference in volume from one preset tot the next, it's something we will look in to for a future update.
Peace,
Andy.

Had this connected to my X-station last night- and it was nice to run the audio through and hear the quality- but- volume level was very low- it's almost that you have something set wrong when you are using Airplay out to a connected audio device (at least, the airplay symbol lights up beside the volume level).
I would also like to see free samples from each add-on pack as I am on the fence on the quality and useability outside of playing around on the iPad (looking at seeing how this can be used in a live setting which is intriguing to me). Could give me an option over using Mainstage for simple gigs.

The output volume from Alchemy Mobile is something we'lre investigating and hope to fix in the next update.
Regarding the add-on packs, I don' think we are going to be giving away free samples but we may update the preset demo tracks to use the Alchemy Mobile presets. All of our demos are recorded straight with no FX / EQ / compression to give an honest representation of what to expect.
Regarding quality of the add-on packs we've received excellent feedback, and I would say the presets are at least a good as those included in the Factory bank.
Peace,
Andy.

We've just submitted a new Alchemy Mobile update to Apple with a bunch of cool new features and I thought you guys would like to know - with luck it should be out in the next week. I'm just in the process of writing notes for the App description, so I thought I'd post them here to get some feedback. Is there anything that's not clear? What (if any) are the key features that will encourage you to upgrade to the pro version (so I can list them higher up)?
New Features in Free:
- Velocity Sensitive - press lower down the key for louder sounds
- Individual Note Filter Sweeps by sliding your finger up and down the keys
- Improved Copy/Paste - integrated Sonoma Wireworks AudioCopy/AudioPaste
- Dubstep, Dance & Trance and Guitar Mutations available as in App purchases (new libraries possibly subject to change but thats what we're planning)
New Features Exclusive to Pro Upgrade:
- Load/Save Projects so you can recall your song sketches
- Virtual MIDI - control Alchemy from other Apps such as SoundPrism Pro
- Export MIDI and WAV files
- Load Alchemy Desktop Presets
- Pitchbend Each Note by sliding your finger left and right
- Bounce - layer up as many synth parts as you like
- Auto Sync to External MIDI tempo
- Polyphonic Aftertouch MIDI messages sent to desktop Alchemy
- Poly control - set the number of notes to play at once

I like the idea of velocity sensitivity but would it not be better to have the velocity increase the higher up the key you play?Ben [Camel Audio] wrote:New Features in Free:

Certainly on the Mac/PC platform for apps with keyboards, the convention is that the further down towards the bottom of the keyboard the louder the note. This to me makes sense for several reasons; firstly, on an actual piano, you get a louder note if you hit towards the outside of the key, because you have more leverage. Secondly, its easier to play the bottom of white notes, rather than the narrow bit between black notes and in general you tend to want to play notes loud more often than quiet. So I feel its the right way round.thebaggytrouseredone wrote:I like the idea of velocity sensitivity but would it not be better to have the velocity increase the higher up the key you play?Ben [Camel Audio] wrote:New Features in Free:

Your logic makes sense, I agree with you now.

Now for THOSE features I would upgrade to the PRO version!
Don't care too much for the Dubstep, Dance & Trance and Guitar Mutations , etc...but that's just because I don't do that style. Berlin School, Ambient, etc. style stuff would be cool. (a lot of what you have is great for that) Really though - anything to add to it would be great. Make mp3 demos though so we can hear what we're buying. Nothing worse then buying a sound set only to find out that you can't stand it...

Does Alchemy mobile communicate with Alchemy desktop via midi or wifi? I have bonjour installed and I'm running alchemy mobile on an iPad 2 with an Aesis io dock. I thought you could do it via midi as I don't have my laptop connected to the Internet.

Remote control runs over WiFi, which is why Bonjour is required but you don't need to be connected to the 'net for this to work. Assuming your Mac/PC has a wireless connection of some kind, you can create an ad-hoc network that only exists between the computer + iOS device.thebaggytrouseredone wrote:Does Alchemy mobile communicate with Alchemy desktop via midi or wifi? I'm not 100% sure if Alchemy Mobile will send MIDI notes via the IO Dock MIDI port, but it definitely won't send the remix pad / performance control info. For that you need WiFi.
Peace,
Andy.

Does anyone happen to have a new iPhone 4S?
Someone posted a review on the iTunes app store saying they could not get Alchemy Mobile working on the new iPhone. Is anyone able to confirm that is true? Thanks.
Peace,
Andy.
