If you mean identical as in completely different with dockers and everything then I completely agree.

Ps... quick spot the difference competition...

That's what you call a compromise! I take option c if available.

That's really clever, but I'm clevererer, and I have found the difference:

Beeeotching is irrelevant. Need is irrelevant.

Nobody and it won't happen. If people wanna bash they'll do it. You know it's Reeeeaaaprrrrrrr! It's shit. If you paid lotsa more money for CubaProLog that is. :P Though the Log part became cheaper for pro users these days ... :hihi:

BTW: Long live Reaper! May it improve and get more good themes. :D

Reaction is very nice-looking. But nice-looking isn't the issue.

I'm not saying it is.

The issue is that what one calls garbage, fiddly workflow another finds no issue with, in fact, they may love it.

It is like with X1...when it first came out I was like, WTF did they do with this? No right click menu boxes...unless you were in Inspector Pane? Before it was you went to an area..right clicked and lo and behold there was a menu box popping up..very intuitive..now..not so much. Around then I had to start reading that beeping 1,000+ page manual to find out where everything was. Thank goodness for Scott Garrigus precise books...

I have found that it is a bit quicker in workflow...once I RTFM. And explored around on it...but I'm still not fond of it..no colour customization of the GUI as a whole..non-shrinking Control Bar... :x

Not strictly true, XT 1 was image based, XT2 does have some images available to the user but not many, and the default is no images ;)
Ja.x wrote:I don't think I ever heard of one of us, XT users, that could jump into Reaper not getting in trouble.
Not strictly true either, I even used Massiva too (Pre XT1) and still use XT1 and XT2 heavily, never had a single problem moving to Reaper at all, In fact i make tutorials for it and help run the IRC help, so not sure "XT user proof" is quite accurate.
XT worked how it worked and if you have gotten so used to it then yes you may struggle, Reaper on the other hand is open ended in that regard, you NEED to spend time setting it up to work how YOU want to work and then you will find it of much better use, I don't recommend anybody uses the default set up for longer than it takes to demo the app for a few minutes to be honest, you can learn so so much about Reaper simply from spending a few days setting it up to fit you ;)

have one it the favor of many new DAW users.
Just an aside and not really relevant to this thread but XT 1.4 could do that so very very long ago (Sad times in XT land right now)

That is complete nonsense, Yes by default V4 may look similar to V3 (They do this so old time users don't all scream "meh meh meh it's so different i need to relearn" which we all know would happen)
But the options are available to make V4 radically different (Better)
Yes they still use some standard OS widgets that are very very win 3.11, maybe that will change one day who knows ?
