It looks like there are 8 oscillators available so with using 2 OSCs in the synth engine you could play 4 notes polyphonic.
What about with three oscillators?
If there are really 8 oscillators it would be like 8 : 3 = 2.66 notes of polyphony so there could be some voice stealing when playing chords then.
I'll check that as soon as i get my hands on a working unit of course.

BTW like in the old Pulse 1 the Pulse 2 could be poly-chained. You could connect up to 16 units to create a true polyphonic analog synth. A poly-chain with 8 units would cost around 4000 Euros which is less than a single Moog Voyager XL. :o :)

The poly-chaining creates a good case for providing 2-voice polyphony with 3 oscillators. In that case, 3 Pulse 2's would be sufficient for a pad synth. Can the Pulse 2 be poly-chained with Pulse 1's?

Good question. I could imagine that it could work if both use the same features but as the feature sets of both are significantly different it would be difficult i guess. Anyway the Pulse 2 is backwards-compatible so i expect that soundbanks of the Pulse 1 could be used in the Pulse 2.
As i know that some Waldorf beta testers got a Pulse 1 this could be something which would be worth testing. I'll try to get my hands on one or a few Pulse 1 soundbanks when i get a Pulse 2 and will try testing that.
