I seem to recall mention that the full version could open LE patches but not the other way round.

Yep, but there is no error handling for the LE version opening the full patches, they even show up with the full version's extra matrix patch colors :)so close but yet so far way! It would be cool if there were some utility or even manual way of editing the files to remove the full version features.Goseba wrote:I seem to recall mention that the full version could open LE patches but not the other way round.

Importing a bank made with the full version to the LE may work as far as to extra modules are used. But you may have to change the trig matrix: Most of the time, the connection between the keyboard and the envelop is not there.
BTW : there must be an issue when changing presets to quickly : it seems that one of the module is connected before something correct is inputting, and then a "not a number" is reaching in the audio path. When this happen, all the audio flow is polluted, only a relaunch can get it working back.
It would be helpful if you can send me from which to which preset, the problem occurs. I will be able to protect this module.
Anyway, I will have a look to this issue.
Best

Thanks Xavier, I'll try working with the trig matrix, and will try and send you some info on what patches I see that issue with when I see it next.xavier wrote:Importing a bank made with the full version to the LE may work as far as to extra modules are used. Crap - oh well thanks for letting me know. I don't know if there's anything that can be done to rectify that without changing the sounds. I guess they use all the features of the full version.braj wrote:Well the good news is the bank imports, the bad news is none of the patches make any soundaMUSEd wrote:My XILS Unquiet Night bank is very Gong influenced - not sure how well it works in LE though as I made it with the full version:

Well, it DOES look like some of the full-version features work, the multi-colored pins seem to be fine, just you can't set them but it reads them fine from what I can tell. And I'm getting sound once I add the OSC and KB settings in the matrix, just knowing what I'm missing is a puzzle, but still it does give more sounds to work with, something to fiddle with. If you can give some tips what to add to the missing matrix settings that would be helpful. Anyhow I appreciate what is there and maybe Xavier will be successful getting a tool out for us.aMUSEd wrote:Crap - oh well thanks for letting me know. If you have Reaktor you should try out the Zootok synth in a case ensemble which is free on the user library. It's pretty excellent and is what I had always assumed this synth was based fairly directly off of.
This xils version does have some nice sounds, but the 'uniqueness' of these seems to come a lot from the quite metallic spring verb, which I think gives a pretty nice solid edge to some of the sounds. Having the reaktor synth in a case ensemble I've felt no need to get the xils version.
*feel free to explain how the xils synth differs from the reaktor ensemble.
for some of these fx types sounds it's definitely worth looking at the wayoutware arp2600, or even the arturia 2600 which can do similar types of sounds and also have a spring/metallic verb.
Another superb option for bubbling, burbling types fx sounds is Uhe's ACE, which is pretty fantastic for that type of audio rate oscillation that the other synths listed above can do. It doesn't have a spring/metallic verb, but if you have a nice plate or spring reverb then your set.
I'd probably go so far as to say that ACE this might be the best option for this 'type' of sound. I really like it's more 'modern' take on this type of sound. Ace is also certainly the best value, apart from the free reaktor ensemble....

It's called 'SIAC'. Haven't tried it yet. Thanks for the heads up
