something about next month's theme seems vaguely familiar...D.H. Miltz wrote:Next month: Some type of contact with extraterrestrials has been made. The aliens have sent music. Let us hear it. (Loosely inspired by a suggestion from Laguna Rising.)

Cool, that will leave plenty of room for our experimental adventures...D.H. Miltz wrote:Next month: Some type of contact with extraterrestrials has been made. The aliens have sent music. Let us hear it. (Loosely inspired by a suggestion from Laguna Rising.)

l'st b'ts
RuediRena: SHushi married and tamed Max El Bunga and there we have a new member from Germony. did i say, i like it?
DHMiltz: no comment except:
i'd like to do this, but something magnets me away.
pchor: moogelicious. what about a theremin above the whole thing for some quiek quiek, before the Strat stratts in? very nice build up.
satYatunes: Hans zimmert wieder an seinen Stakketen. dramatic build up, well done and well mixed. cinematic oddbodery.
great month, a lot of music to keep.
finis

Here's a one-click download of all the tracks if anyone wants it (110MB):
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/10032304/KVR%201206.zip
Gave all the songs the same album title and filled in missing artist names. Did it for my own listening but figured I might as well share to save anyone else the hassle.
D.H. Miltz, feel free to put this link in the voting thread if you want to.

Thanks Mello for the comments. I had to switch on the English subtitles to understand itmellotronaut wrote: satYatunes: Hans zimmert wieder an seinen Stakketen. dramatic build up, well done and well mixed. cinematic oddbodery.
Thank you so much for going through this painful task. Very thoughtful of you. I just noticed that I have already commented on your track on soundcloud, at that time I didn't know it was an entry for this contest. Nevertheless, a very good track. Mine is also inspired by extraterestrial things.evo2slo wrote:Here's a one-click download of all the tracks if anyone wants it (110MB):

No problem with that Mello, I got the message, I could have tried a more smooth transition or something different than the usual progression.mellotronaut wrote:sorry for not being clear (and maybe too rudeLaguna Rising wrote:mellotronaut wrote:Laguna Rising: a thoughtful and contemplative track first and then comes the routine Camel like prog synth solo over rhythmic progression. biased.![]()
Thanks for your reviews, Mello
Cheers): what i meant, is: a great atmospheric piece till the rhythmic part drops in. then you stay within your comfort zone and do something, you did in several contest entries: a (Peter Bardens like) synth solo over a rhythmic chord progression. it's not bad at all, but i'd liked much more a continuo of the first part.
Problem is: every track sound different and start in a different way in my head, but when I arrange and record them, they end up to sound all the same
That's my dirty touch
Cheers
