Especially for New Age I would suggest Kubik. It is incredibly deep and versatile (yet at the same time relatively easy to use and navigate) and can create some of the most beautyful outworldish pads and noises I have ever heard - listen to the demo songs...

Suggest the best soft synth I can get for $100! (Updated with new questions)

within your remit, i would say 'omnisphere', but that aint gonna happen
the other recommendation would be 'alchemy'...for sounds, great engines and live performance controls this fits the bill
you can normally find really good deals in the marketplace that aen't much over your budget
reaktor is a fantastic package, and you really don't need to create a single instrument for it to be a worthwhile purchase.....using the included 'spacemaster' reverb anything can become lush, ambient or new-agey.....some great oddities to take you off the beaten path also

I want to say thank you to folks who made suggestions here. Tonight I purchased Synthmaster 2.5 and FAW Circle and am very happy with both programs. I'm new here, was a HW guy for decades, and I'm learning about lots of cool affordable instruments here.
You guys rock!
