then right-click "ST2 Pref" , and choose 'get info' from the menu

you want to make sure that all 3 sets of permissions are set to "read & write"

i ended up having to re-download sampletank (as it was not working with the older), installing, then re-downloading the auth manager (1.07) and it finally worked
Thanks. I'll try that.
I did dl the latest version, and did have auth manager 1.0.7, but I'll try with the permissions thing then.

about time. if I really try hard, I can just about read the thing. That is unacceptable. I want the musical freedom and innovation that comes along with having no idea what buttons you are pushing. I would suggest a simple (yet elegant) black rectangle with a single randomize button in the middle. think of the possibilities. once freed from the notion of sculpting a sound, you can merely push the randomize button and rest easy in the knowledge that ST is looking out for your musical interests and making all the hard choices for you. :D

exactly, and that would solve the main issue i'm having with the preset navigation/tree....

opening up the disclosure triangles, i sometimes find myself being able to read the names of 3 or 4 presets before having to scroll

this is such a major distraction, when all i need to know is the one i'm using

by reducing the size of the browser window so i can see even less information i might actually be able to get on with making music

Don't forget the programming efforts to make it an even more disgusting color... :hihi:

They've actually invented a brighter shade of red than has existed before now. :!:

actually you can change the colour.......which is another distraction from making music

ST3 will have a fixed colour (likely the brighter red mentioned above), but with a lower text/background contrast ratio

This is true. You can range from retina destroying red to retina destroying blue. Or you can turn down the volume and make it look so gray and depressing that you lose all ability to play anything other than minor chords.
