This demo version regularly inserts a soft noise into the audio output.

Well, the noise and the dropout happen at the same time, it is basically the same thing, dropping down the audio so that noise isn't too loud I'd guess. seriously, is it really that off-putting to you? There is no demo timeout, the noise-dropout are unobtrusive, quiet if anything actually, and you can get a full demo without that limitation with the free Mulab.hibidy wrote:Yep

Use the Wobble Generator. It may do the trick.Slarti wrote:The thing I find most lacking in Mulab and Mux is no 'Randomize' function for parameters!
I hope it will be implemented soon.

Will there be a free upgrade from MUX1 to MUX2 just like the free upgrade from MuLab4 to 5?mutools wrote:Absolutely, even big plans! But that's for MuLab 5 / MUX Vst 2.

This is saving my arse right now:

At least preventing some pain. i still haven't bought the full version yet, waiting for funds, but now what was a routing nightmare is easy, and i have a 'system' down that is pretty painless. Even my desire for cistom scales in the Studio One piano roll are essentially fulfilled with this, i just write everything in C major and the MUX transposes to whatever key and scale I define, i can even change keys and scales after the fact if I'm not happy with something. It works marvelously with arps like Catanya. I just input a one-note progression, midiChords turns it into I-II-Ī-V-IV.... chords, then the midiScaleChanger changes the key and scales, feeds into Catanya and then into a synth. Then I can route it to a new track to write the midi permanently. i can then make changes like chord inversions that are all in key, anyhow MUX is awesome!

braj - thanks for sharing that; this is what I was considering buying MUX for; BTW, MUX could use a way to run one-note progressions in the next version.braj wrote:This is saving my arse right now:

1. I use Harmonizer into Cantanya with one-note progressions. I see you achieving the same thing as Harmonizer with a midiChords/midiScaleChanger duo.
2. I am curious as I own CK Pattern Arp - but prefer Cantanya because the large database of presets in Cantanya. Any tips on CK Pattern Arp would be interesting?
3. Your setup in MUX is quite interesting - what's the bottom row used for with all the notes of the scale ? Where is the data pulling from to make that?
Regards, James

W2 Harmonizer is great but it doesn't handle legato, so playing live is clunky. I use it to show me chords and scales for using in pizmidi's midiChords and midiScaleChanger, which is what the bottom row of knobs is from.

There are a ton of free midi vst tools here, with the nice benefit of not having a GUI of their own, using MUX's default GUI so you can very easily grab and drag their controls anywhere. Very very good combination! midiChords is donationsware but after using the free tools i think you'll happily donate, there is no limitation though if you don't. It may be a little more work than Harmonizer but if you want to play anything live it is much better in the long run. I hope 7Aliens updates it with legato support since I also own it and would like to get more use out of it.

CK Pattern Arp is cool because it doesn't play things is a defined sequence, it is essentially first in-first out ordered arp, but where you can define each note in a really dynamic way. I'm not sure because it isn't in front of me currently but I think the Start setting for triggering works best, and you need to click that little clock to get it to run when the sequencer is off. But maybe you know that already ) anyhow i think playing with your own fingering timing, maybe a relatively simple pattern but have notes play across 6 or more key slots will give you a lot of variation using just a relatively simple pattern. I am no pro with it but I always find something inspiring, moreso than Catanya actually. for straight 'jamming' it is wonderful, Catanya works well enough as a static compositional tool but it restarts each time you change fingerings so timing can be weird with it. Anyhow I wrapped it into my MUX and will probably make a MUX for W2 and Catanya only as they really compliment each other, better and something where you enter a set chord progression instead of playing live. midiChords, ScaleChanger and CK PatternArp are much better for jamming but setup is longer, but not much once you get used to them. Bottom line though for this thread is MUX makes using them all a dream
