Cheapest way to Live 9?

I asked Ableton for a coupon to compensate for losing a little by buying Intro first, anyhow they didn't officially agree but gave me a %15 off code anyhow
I'm about $80 away from getting the Suite. I'm selling String Studio since having it in Live to whatever extent will be good enough for me and it will get more use because it is part of Live's presets too. I just like the interface with no-floating window, as much as I can make use of that in Live the better.
String Studio is on sale here in case anyone is interested in helping me get to that $80. If i sell it I will splurge and spend the other $35 out of pocket

Maybe next time. I'm over my head with everything right now........I think If I wait till next year to do the beta, I'll be on with 8 great and appreciate it more but still be able to contribute to testing. Right now I wouldn't be any help.....just lost.

I grabbed the beta. It will also give me a better grip on whether the Suite upgrade is worth it to me. I'm kinda leaning on 'no' at this point.

I went back to Suite ( had it a few years ago) and was lucky enough to get it at the better price recently. I was thinking of M4L anyway and since Suite 9 comes with M4L it was a no brainer for me. So if you think M4L might be useful, then Suite is the way to go.

M4L baked into suite is far too expensive, either as upgrade to suit or full suit.
Pricing (and lack of more interesting features) will be Ableton's nemesis.

Yeah, but you learn shit WAY faster than I. I'm juuussssssssssst starting to feel I can get around live w/o thinking. Of course learning S1 (now that I can use it) is mucking that upbraj wrote:I grabbed the beta. It will also give me a better grip on whether the Suite upgrade is worth it to me. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it though. Exciting times for a change!

Well I'm coming back to Live, it was my main DAW for a few years. There are some nice additions since my last version, but everything is basically in the same place and works in the same way, so its all easy to understand. It was really a 'homecoming'. I really like the combo of Studio One and Live, it seems for my purposes each nicely has what the other lacks and are both simple and similar enough that the workflows aren't from other dimensions. They compliment each other. I'm pretty stoked about it all now.

I think thats what alot of people have found is that the combo of live with s1 is nice. I have a few others but those two are my goto's, live is my default but when I want something linear s1's layout just seemed the most natural to me coming from live, not sure why, maybe its the lack of clutter

OK, I spent the cash, I have Suite now, I'm fully invested in Live now. I'm really loving all the AAS instruments, I never cared for the normal GUIs in the plugin versions and I'm stoked to have them integrated well in Live. Especially on my laptop with only one screen, keeping floating windows to a minimum is my plan forward. I just like the 'big picture' and feel invited to adjust parameters and don't have to manage windows constantly. I'm eager to give Max a go but will likely wait till 9 arrives.

So I guess it wasn't so legit after all.
