I think you mean 'flak'. We get a lot of flak.
We never get any slack.

Which is what this is really all about...
We here at IK know a thing or two about shameless self-promotion. :P
Well, sir. If that's truly how you feel, then perhaps IK has a position available that I'd be very aptly suited for. I did recently get laid off from my IT position due to shortage of work. :P back at ya. ;)
Thanks & God Bless,

Well I was able to happily upgrade to Grande through the kind support of Peter. I won't say the resolution he gave me, but it was WAY more than fair, and proved to me for sure that IK is customer-orientated and really cares about my business. Anyhow now I'm going to go forward with the feeling IK is really in the process of getting all their ducks in a row and probably the developer that is catering most to my vision for how I'd like to get plugins.

I think it must be incredibly confusing for them to transition from one business model to the next, with different incentive programs that kind of all crashed into each other. My feeling is as the CS gets established and matures across the product lines, and SampleTank3 is finally released, I shouldn't see situations like I found myself in (and admittedly much of it was my own lack of comprehension).

I have to say, when I consider the energy IK expends in trying hear our views and address our issues, and tolerate our bile, i am really impressed. I was treated very kindly even though I'm pretty rude sometimes and I really appreciate that. It kind of gave me that 'the customer is always right' sort of feeling, that while that isn't the truth they still tried to honor it. Peter was just incredibly cool to deal with.

There are still things to gripe about like resale and I'm not crazy about the credit system, but all things considered, I am very very pleased and will take the EULA as it is and hope that it will change, but I'll accept it, I don't see myself selling anything I have purchased, much at such a low price I couldn't replace it for the same. The plugins couldn't sound better to my ears and I'm glad to hear the British Channel will get a new skin at some point to help my eyes a bit :)

Now I'm eager to see what other plugins they may release through the store. I would be interested in a variety of cool delays and phazers, I'm wondering how broad a palette of tools there will be, I'm hoping very broad. I'd be interested to see a custom shop with some 3rd party synths, let some other developers leverage the store and also build IK's plugin business. Sort of what the RE thing is doing on Reason. The big upside for me would be getting the most current builds automatically, getting demos easily, and being able to restore the majority of my plugins after only installing the CS. I know a lot of people don't like this model, but I find the Android store for example as such an improvement from buying the then-niche market Palm apps that cost 4 times more (or even way more than that). I see both upsides and downsides to the store idea, but for me personally there are way more upsides. Just IK needs to get the pricing right and get through the transition period with a satisfied customer base. And they really resolved my complaints completely and I'm extremely impressed, there is no better sign of goodwill than that for me.

Anyhow, many thanks to IK all around. And especially thank you Peter!

i am kind of in the same boat. i don't see myself selling T-Racks any time soon - CSR is still my favourite reverb, i got several great workhorse tools (linear phase EQ, de-esser, brickwall limiter), a few great analog modeled stuff and a couple of nice modules as a bonus. getting so much (arguably) top of the line gear for 100 EUR is a steal (i upgraded from CSR).
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

iLok 2. And other such devices where there isn't any usage of re-sold software allowed...
I don't get your point.......

I'm just glad nobody is grinding our bones for bread. I was going to try to get some ponies to substitute but it seems we're safe for now.

I emailed IK a while ago about the 'individual' upgrade pricing for people who already own most of their stuff, but I haven't received a reply. Just letting you know :)

Drop me a PM with your IK username, if you would. I'd appreciate it and try to help as I can.

You're saying you can keep using software after you've sold it. But that's not true for software that uses the iLok 2 and other dongles that have yet to be cracked.
