using just one sequencer brand, doesn't mean same thing than to use just one DAW.
DAW means the digital audio workstation, you can use several workstations although you used just one sequencer brand. Therefore this voting has no value.
That theory would be fine except for the inalienable fact that the term 'DAW', in the specific context of software, is a synonym for what you're calling a 'sequencer'.

Thanks for that very neat description of your own behaviour.

Wow, I started that and didn't even know!

maybe technically, but in fact an innocent and completely on topic comment AGAIN started a predictable chain of events.

When I read about folks that have paid all of this money for all of these different hosts/DAW, I always think:

Dang, I could buy a few guitars for that kind of cash!

I've been a one-host at a time person since the very first one I used - which was my sequencer on my Ensoniq ESQ-1.

From there it was PG Music's PowerTracks Pro Audio for about 7 or 8 years.

Then Tracktion 1 hooked me on its bendy arrows! Then they made it free NFR for a month and I picked up two more licenses for other active e-mails that I had. I still use one of those now and then.

Then Tracktion 2. Bought an upgrade as part of a benefit auction.

Then Tracktion 3 Ultimate when it was $19 on fire sale at Musician's Friend.

I'm still cranking away on Tracktion 3. I will not give up using the cheater plugins it has like Final Mix. I have not made the purchase of Tracktion 4 since access to Final Mix and other Tracktion specific plugins go bye-bye.

Tracktion 3 is now over 5 years old if I count correctly. For my simple stuff, nothing else is needed. It's stable for me, even on Win 7 64 bit (I do have to run it as administrator).

If I ever divorce myself from Tracktion, it will likely be when it simply just won't work any longer - then I'll lay down the big bux for a Mac and go with Logic.

Admirable. I wish I'd had the lack of crashes, bugs and show stoppers that some people have had.

But I admit, I'm ashamed of how many hosts I've had considering the productivity. I'm glad things are better now.

There's no Reason for it. :hihi:

HaHa yeah I used to use just Cubase 7 but really like the Reason SSL emulation

@rockstar_not , if aint broke dont fix it use T3 , oh and about Tracktion 4 - it is in the process of getting the bugs worked out of it , I'll can also recommend two free 32/64 bit mac and windows plugins to use , SplineEQ free and LimiterNO6 . Both are free and can get the same results if not better than Finalmix. Limiter no6 is not just a limiter , it has a clipper , ny compression (parallel) , compressor , limiter and also up-sampling that you can turn on or off , when on will hit your cpu a little but sounds a little better .I use the alternate GUI its in english . lol . Spine EQ free is a linear phase EQ or what I refer to as a mastering eq , which I dont use or master , Im very conservative with eq and prefer knobs over pictures of dots and curves that you can make smiley faces out of . So you might want to check those 2 out .

I use Reaper most of the time for everything, however, I like to begin projects with EnergyXT 1.41 as I find it more creative to work with, since it's modular, and so easy to connect/route all the VSTs fast.

I do know how to work with Cubase and ProTools, though, as lots of my clients use them. Especially Cubase or Nuendo. I've been using Cubase since the Atari days, so I'm really familiar with it, but it's not for me, personally.

Cheers!

AVID Pro Tools and Ableton Live, They are for me personally an ideal combination for my workflow and compliment one another very well. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah I could probably get by just fine using one or the other but my way of working is pretty much ingrained and it just works so I don't question it.

SONAR is a fairly recent addition, I invested to be compatible with my fellow collaborator and joint home studio dude, I gave in as he wasn't budging. I have not got much of it down/am not to good at using it yet but I know enough to be able to do what I need to do with it, I think that will change the more I use it and it is very powerful for sure. As I really do not like AVID one bit I will perhaps switch over and use it in place of Pro Tools in the long run when the version of Pro Tools I'm on now simply will not work anymore.

So yes that is three in total but the third mentioned was really for making life a lot easier but with added benefits in the long run I'm hoping, We'll see

I'm not really keen on change at all but sometimes there is just no avoiding it

Post

I'll be really interested to see how sonar pans out for you!

Anybody surprised by the results so far? I thought for sure that there would be far fewer in the 3+ category.
Logic Pro | LUNA Pro | OB-X8 | Prophet 6 | OB-6 | Rev2 | TEO-5 | Pro 3 | SE-1X | Minitaur | Deepmind 12D | Integra-7 | TR-1000 | Analog RYTM mk2 | Digitakt 2 | TD-3 MO | TD-3 | Maschine+

Then you obviously haven't paid attention to kvr

Yeah, I'm rather shocked one has a narrow lead right now. The KVR poll respondents are showing a bit of restraint. Impressive. :)

One DAW to rule them all (vst's) one DAW to find them. One DAW to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.
