I don't have fxpansion on my contact list AND I reported that as junk. Still got a second one.

AGAIN, this is NOT my primary account, so it's quite likely it is a breach with FXpansion somewhere (which is where my old account lies I think? )

Not 100% sure as I can't remember FXpansion prior to owning this house and all my net stuff started with my new email back in May 2005 when this closed and I moved in here.

Yeppers, my older email is the account email. It's DEFINITELY AN FXPANSION issue.

If you can extract the bit.ly link, it might be worth posting it (without the bit.ly prefix so it doesn't act as a link). If people report it, bit.ly will put up a warning page to stop it automatically routing through Clickbank and onto DubTurbo.

I can't as I haven't had the second email yet.

FWIW the link in the first one decodes to Clickbank user realany*. Be interesting to see if it's the same one in this one or whether they've got a farm of these 'affiliates'. IIRC, having more than one account is a breach of the Clickbank TOS, so might be a way of getting at least some of their accounts banned there.

* It comes up as realany.dubturbo, but I then realised that the second part is the vendor code.

It's only working if somebody's stupid enough to buy this piece of sh#t - I don't see anyone here being tempted, only annoyed. If the idea was to annoy people, now that's working just fine...

So the handle 'realany' comes up on a couple of forums. It might be coincidence but he's on BlackHatWorld last year asking about spam email lists he's obtained. And the same handle appears on a couple of guitar forums spamming some guitar lessons DVD. This might turn out to be an extraordinarily dumb spammer who thought he'd lucked onto a hot email list.

Yeah, it's always a great idea to send spammers a mail to confirm that your e-mail address is valid...

I also got the second email today.

SkotFX over at FXpansion's forum says:

We sent a "Please Explain... and quickly before we start turning the voltage up on the nipple clamps" email to DT (strangely, we have a form email for this...).

DubTurbo are providing us with info on the "rogue affiliate", and apparently doing all they can to shut him down, and want to open direct communications to help resolve this.

We are still hunting leads to see what the source of the email address list was; web admin team scanning webserver history.
