I don't see anyone saying that, Chaos. I just see people expressing disappointment. That's OK, isn't it?

If there was an accusation, I missed it. A couple people pointed out a surprising limitation -- surprising, that is, in light of the product's history -- and some of us started to think through the implications. I did look at the pictures and I did read all of the text; I still missed this point, and I'm glad that someone drew it to my attention.

Got it yesterday and it works perfectly under Windows 7. Awesome product.

I'm looking to get one of these to use with my windows 7 machine. Thing is, my AU is a Presonus Firestudio Project and my audio drivers are the presonus ones, as Asio4All tends to make everything crash.

Does the iConnectMidi2+ work with other drivers?

Post

For the iConnectMIDI to work is it required that a driver or an app that recognized the iConnectMIDI be installed in the iPad and another in the Windows PC?

Post

It doesn't use its own drivers on any platform, it's class compliant.
There is an app for iPad and PC to make settings, but it isn't needed to actually use the device.

I plan to connect the iPad Air to my Windows 7 PC. My concern right now is about MIDI.

My current setup includes the MOTU Midi Express 128, Midi Patchbay which connects to the PC by USB cable. Seven of the eight Ports are used by the Express 128.

The iPad comes with a Lightning to USB cable adaptor. I assume that the USB is plugged into the iConnectMIDI. The iConnecMIDI then connects to the PC by USB cable. Correct?

My final question the iConnectMIDI will show up in the PC as Port 8 or 9 or by the label "iconnectMIDI". On the iPad side it will show up as Port One?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I am trying to make my iPad/PC integration economical.

I was wondering if this Lightning Cable With 3 USB Ports http://www.trait-tech.com/product/T-MUD ... -30cm.html will help. The loose USB cable plugs into the USB/120 volt adaptor. Now I have solved the battery charging of the iPad. This will save me the $30 expense of purchasing the Optional Power Transformer http://iconnectivity.com/iConnectMIDI2% ... ransformer Correct?

From one of the ports of the Lightning Cable with 3 USB Ports I then connect to the iConnectMIDI. What kind of Cable is required?

Please help.

BTW I took a leap of faith and ordered the iConnectMIDI+2 from Guitar Center. Found out late that is back-ordered. Who has it in stock?

Let us know if this actually works (with anything). The reports I've seen are discouraging.

IConnect is pretty good about answering questions on their FB page, and if you fill out a support ticket on their site they'll follow up quickly, IMO.

The Lightning Cable With 3 USB Ports link has been corrected

FWIW, I went for the Griffin Studio Connect - more for the fact it has direct audio outputs, so one does not need some form of USB audio interface on stage, just the iPad :)

I bought a 50cm 30 pin extension cable so I can sit the StudioConnect on the end of the keyboard and run it from the iPad which sits in front of me on a stand.

The USB Audio "pass-through" on the iConnect is fine for studio use, but not live imo.

This device USB2-HUB4BC http://plugable.com/products/usb2-hub4bc/ may do the trick of charging an Ipad with lightning connecter. Here is with comments http://plugable.com/2012/03/13/charging ... -a-usb-hub .

I am hoping to save the $30 expense of purchasing the Optional Power Transformer http://iconnectivity.com/iConnectMIDI2% ... ransformer to power the iConnectMIDI+2. This is done only to keep charged the iPad. The iConnectMIDI+2 is powered by the USB from the PC other source that has power One can also use the 120v/USB adaptor that comes with the iPad Air to power the iConnectMIDI+2.

The prevailing spec is the BC 1.1 for using it with Ipad lightning .

Please check this for accuracy.

This my first Apple products experience and am becoming increasingly anti-Apple. I always thought that Apple thinks about the user. That is a lot of BS! I have entered the Apple Twilight Zone as things look like right now I will never escape!
