Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

Look on the bright side: clearly some of us are beta testing it!

We appreciate it too - kick it good for us about to rock (Reaper/Win7/32bit hereNed Bouhalassa wrote:Look on the bright side: clearly some of us are beta testing it!
Regarding the topic - I just picked up Waves PuigChild and I'm really liking it.
I have the Slate and IK and am really getting into this one from Waves. I'm re-mastering, not mixing into it (so individual instruments/tracks are sealed in concrete) I think that makes the difference for me. The PuigChild seems more flexible, I can make it very clean and it moves with the music (the Slate & IK seem a little too colored for my taste), and it's on sale. Here's a fun demo of it from one of the Gearslutz guys:
Anyway too much info for this thread...back to waiting for Sasha's Satin...

nothing here...master fader @ unity. just don't want to trip up the mastering engineer later.
i'll usually use a limiter for preview exports, with gain raised to the point where the limiter catches, then dropped back.
i mix @ k20, so clipping is never an issue.

Slate's FG-X.
This one doesn't get a lot of attention, probably because of Slate's roster of other high-profile plugs. But this thing is just awesome. Makes everything sound like it belongs there.
I don't know what, exactly, it does, or how it does it, but it does it very, very well.

Sometimes nothing, but if I use one it's usually The Glue. 4:1 ratio usually, attack and release time vary. Side chain filter also in use. Occasionally I'll use PuigChild, but that's uncommon.

Ubk-1 into Satin (it has replaced VTM here).
I used to have VCC as first insert, but I'm currently experimenting again with Airwindows Console2/Desk3... and also with a mix of VCC and Console2. I'm looking forward SDRR too !

Just a limiter set to do nothing but make sure I don't blast my ears off.

*updated* Not in any particular order, but these tend to find their way on my master bus all the time.
The Glue - My favorite bus compressor
Satin - New favorite Tape saturation plugin for adding a bit of grit and warmth to the overall mix.
Maul - Another great saturation plugin, i like using the Tube saturation occasionally.
Ableton EQ-8 - My go-to EQ so far.
Ableton Reverb - Used very very rarely to add a touch of ambience.
