I like it more than tonebooster, though that is certainly a fine product.

I think TB Reelbus can't be beaten for the price... it costs around 1/8 than Satin...

That's cool. I have both

What put me over the top was the delay. I tried not to like it, but I couldn't resist.

Hey, variety is the spice, right?

Heard that the other day in bankruptcy court. Probably just a coincidence.
perception: the stuff reality is made of.

Agreed.
And I'm not saying Satin isn't good. It's different. It just didn't give me anything over ReelBus. Though i gotta say Satin does have a nice control of the high freq area(ips & emphasis). Good for people who don't have EQ's

Well to be fair, for about another hour it's 1/5th of Satin ;-)

For 15$ we would have to sell about 8000 copies of Satin to recoup development and marketing costs. No u-he fx plug-in is ever going to make this number, we're happy if we reach half of that in three or four years (which I won't moan about - it also means that support is on a managable level)

Cheers,

- Urs

Well I went and bought it and very glad I did too! After the normal process of applying it to everything and over doing it I am finding it excellent especially on the drum buss and even a touch at mixdown. The controls are really useful at tweaking the sound just perfect. Looks like it has sorted out my high end troubles as well. They say there are no magic bullets in audio but this is certainly close!

Of course, quality usually has its price. Toneboosters is probably one of the few exceptions to that rule. However, if I were a developer, I'd rather sell 2000 copies for, say, 79 $ than 1000 for 129 $ per year. In the long run, this would certainly increase the chance to recoup any investment costs. Especially since no more (or hardly any) marketings costs will be required once the plug-in has gained a certain reputation.
