As I mentioned earlier, NI's vouchers are their version of IK's Jampoints.

How do you guys with komplete (ultimate or not) deal with that? Buy stuff and then sell the single license later when it comes with the package? Wait for the new package? Anything else?
Ive moved through every version of Komplete since 4, have never gone for the Ultimate version and I can tell you from experience: I am caught in the cycle of simply owning Komplete with a few choice instruments and effects from N.I's catalog around the periphery. One perc of that is that your upgrade is less financially demanding when the new Komplete comes around and you get stuck with less duplicate plugins. The downside is that I probably end up paying out just as much as someone that bought Ultimate and I dont have nearly as many options. Haha.....

But, yeah, it is a bit of a catch 22 if your an Ultimate owner I guess.

And, yeah, I generally wait for Komplete to come out if possible,
Who is "I"? What is "I"? This has yet to be explained.

Yeah, if you can bring up the patience, I would wait if you already own KU9. One of the reasons I bought Komplete was to save on possible upgrades. To buy upgrades seperately would just be a wast of money IMHO. The downside is, to take advantage of that, you have to be patient.... Which I can imagine is hard. ;)

If that is aimed at me, you may want to learn to read, I made it very clear i am a very big fan of Klanghelm and the reference was to point out the double standards of of users around here, so 10 out of 10 for trying to troll, but 0/10 for failing so miserably.
Duh

Can you people please stop praising this plugin? Now I want it, too! Damn herd instinct, I feel like sheep.

Or fish.

Everything went smoothly for me.

You simply MUST treat yourself to a demo. I think you'll be convinced it's a significant upgrade over the other in a relatively short period of time.

Oh wait.......I was supposed to STOP making you want it. Fail :hihi:

But mmmmoooommmm, I don't want to buy another compressor!

I do like the first one, although the differences in using or not seems subtle.
This one seems to have a more noticeable effect.

Not trying to troll at all. I don't expect you to know me, but I'd hope you don't expect that you know me, either. I genuinely believe that you were attacking both companies, whether you intended to or not, by the highly generalized "broad brush" approach to your... and I use the word very loosely... critique. Although looking back I don't even see anyone else discussing Tony's work versus the work that they're doing at Native Instruments, so it seems very odd and acontextual for you to bring up two importantly different styles of freeware/payware distinctions - both because you got the nature of their difference wrong, but also because it just doesn't fit into the overall discussion.

Is there some narrative you intended to imply? It seems to me like you're tilting at windmills more than anything else, here, attacking "people" for things they aren't actually saying. I don't think anyone who got the free Supercharger thinks Native are jerks for giving away a free version of their plugin. I can see that many who have bought the full GT version find it to be an excellent plugin. As for me, I will be waiting for the next Komplete Ultimate because I have hopes that it should be included and I have wanted that software suite for years without buying it.

Find the trolling going on in this post, please. I don't engage in that needless nonsense. I think discourse here would be better if we all just discussed things in good faith and granted the basic assumption that the other person is being real with you when they're talking about a view that they hold. It's one of the weaknesses of KVR, there's a sort of detached perspective that some users have that can make it difficult to engage in thoughtful or thorough discussion about anything remotely controversial (even when that controversy is, as in the case of your Native vs. Klanghelm comparison, entirely manufactured).

Hot damn. Of course I downloaded it immediately, big mistake. Is there any compressor that is as flexible as this with just 9 knobs and a couple of switches?? And it's not even heavy on the CPU, which must be kind of a first for NI
Must... resist...

Depends. The Solid Mix Series is pretty light on CPU, as is Driver. The Tube Series is of course more demanding, the Reverbs are well within the norm. So a bit of everything, really.

Could you elaborate on this?

I signed in my account, checked to see if the Xmas gift was registered (it is) and then went to add the GT to the basket. It does give me the option of buying the upgrade, but also says I have no qualifying product.
So I don't want to purchase until I know it's going to install properly.

And I do like the first one, although the differences in using it seem quite subtle.
This one seems to add even more.

steps. Found my "upgrade" email, clicked on the link, went through the procedure, paid through paypal, got a quick confirmation, had to wait a few hours for the SN to show up, entered it, and it was good to go.
