Is it worth reporting people who pirate software?

Well it might be the thing that changes them. Quite often it seems money tends to have that changing effect on people -- if they'd get a fine, next time around they might consider putting the money where it belongs in the first place.

It's pure speculation how anyone reacts to anything.

Recently, on a subreddit forum, there was a huge discussion about whether or not it was ok to give advice on pirating. I just said my views and defended the software developers, and I was downvoted so far my comment was hidden.

A lot of 14-21 year olds are on there, but still, is that normal? Maybe I am just naive to how common it is.

There are some very respectful developers on these sites having their stuff downloaded for free and it is kinda sad.

What I would ask you is: Why do you care?

Is it money? Do you feel that someone is getting something for nothing and you are missing out because you don't have the balls to take it.

Or perhaps you are just poor.

Remember, I am the devil's advocate here. Don't shoot the messenger.

Actually, pirating is not so rampant today. More people buy their software than actually use it than in any other time in history. But go on.

Reddit. Advice on pirating? Are you f**king shitting me?
Hit me up my good man.

I will lead you down to the goldmines.

Did you know there is a law at kvr where we can't talk about these things?

I would give this troll 4/10. I will now expect you to come back at me as to why this is not a troll and give a few lame reasons.

Half of kvr have responded. You laugh. I admire. Good stuff. But if ever you want to go deeper down...

Report people that use pirate software. Yes. If you have, you will realise the authorities do nothing. Thank you for your troll and drawing our noses to this point.

IS IT WORTH REPORTING PEOPLE THAT USE PIRATE SOFTWARE?

If I said Yes. Would you listen to me. If I said No, would you listen to me?

Half of KVR have though, so credit where credit is due. Hat's off to a major troll. You are about two steps away from owning the server and posting porn if you keep up with your psycho rationale.

But maybe I'm over-reacting.

Here at KVR people who publicly admit to use warez (or show a video with cracks) are usually banned but that doesn't change them at all. They'll still use their warez...
That pretty much sums it up :hihi:

May I take this in oppurtune moment to para phrase Dr. Crandall here: People that talk about not using warez are like people that talk about not using porn.

There. He knew one day those words would come back to haunt him.

Maybe :hihi: Some of it is kinda spot on and other things are a little strange. I don't know that it's a troll. Besides, people like to use the "t" word when they disagree with what someone is saying. One persons perfectly reasonable subject can be taken as "troll" by someone else.

Nah. I mean, looking at porn is likely not stealing. People pay BIG BUCKS to look at porn. Now, parading around on stage with a giant penis and now we're talking :hihi:

I hate it when f**kers do that. I'm with you there man.

Still, what was the argument about?

I think you might want to review your words in the morning.

Where I come from, if you buy software you're practically an idiot.

Luckily, I moved. :hihi:

1+

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Really? Wow, well, you kids keep me on my toes. I suppose if it was a REAL troll, then it would be perfectly fine? :hihi:

Total Bullsh*t. Depends on the platform and the country in question. 10-to-1 piracy to bought ratio on android, for example. Or China.

I have reported criminal uploads to the developers, and I've been thanked by them for doing it. I think the developers complained to the server because the posts were rapidly taken down. One benefit is less is stolen as a result because if we report it it's harder to keep the posts up. It's not hard to send a developer a link to a post.
