OK this is fun, working well with my NUKE joystick - this is just a simple classical guitar to choir and all shades of inbetween - the hybrid sounds are like some sort of uilleann pipe, uncanny! All played and recorded in realtime with just 128 buffer, not bad latency/performance considering.

Not looked at the manual yet but am I right in thinking that it's only real morphing (ie spectral interpolation) within the lined area, but outside that it's just crossfading?

There are two morphing circuits in parallel A>B and B>A. These are vertical and at the left and right of the X/Y. Going from left to right will crossfade between the two circuits. So if you're vertically all the way up or down (at A or B), then going from left to right will give you a crossfade, yes.
In a nutshell: up/down = morphing, L/R is cross-fading between whatever you've set up with the up/down.

I have a dongle that came with Cubase and it has let me store Waves licenses on it, as well as a couple of other company's licenses. Will this work with Morph, or do I need an iLok one in particular?

If you want to use a dongle, it will have to be an iLok 2. That said, you can also activate to your computer.Sendy wrote:I have a dongle that came with Cubase and it has let me store Waves licenses on it, as well as a couple of other company's licenses. The zynaptiq standalone application is as suggested installed in the application folder,Neon Breath wrote:Where is it installed? (OS X here)WolfKay wrote:Sure!Krakatau wrote:I'm wondering if the zynaptization of morph included it compatibility to the standalone application ?
It shall load any of the zynaptiq effect you own, full or demo version
The only regret i have about it : there isn't currently any off-line rendering mode implemented, that would be very useful

Man this thing is crazy!
It's definitely going to cast a shadow over the famous' Kyma morphing.
Here are some quick sound design examples. Just sound experiments here (nothing musical) to showcase the power of this thing. Sound design wise, it's a winner and one hell of a tool.

Here is a quick and dirty first test, morphing a cello phrase from one of my libs with various other things like female vocals, soprano sax, vibraphone phrase and Tuvan throat singing - I think I will have to buy a license for this subito...

Maybe *lowering* the buffer size to 1024 helps
I'm seeing 17% of one thread (so 8.5% of one core) on my Mac "hyperdrive/trash-can" Pro 3ghz. So even if your MBP had just half the punch per core (and it doesn't, it's most likely more like 3/4) you still shouldn't be seeing such a high CPU load. Would be cool if you could email support so that we can have a look whether we can make any sense of that!

so you are saying 1024 would be better than 2048?

I'd say: 1024 would be worth a try.
