I always liked Rapture unison sound, but lack of elementary LFO as Source in ModMatrix always puzzled me, can say the most primary source element in any modulation matrix.
I hope in new version at least this will be changed, if not, then upgrade price i think really abnormal. I could be wrong, but saw yet only improved interface and new sample library. I hope I'm wrong.

doesn't cakewalk have this subscription thingy where updates are free? So once you pay subscription instead of updating the plugins, they just combined them, update it and release as new synth? What about the free updates with the subscription? does this replace rapture and dimension pro?
100 High Quality Soundsets: Omnisphere 2, Dune 3, Tone 2 Synths, Pigments, Uhe Synths, Halion, Spire, and others.

For their plugins? I thought the subscription model only applies to Sonar!Tjgoa wrote:doesn't cakewalk have this subscription thingy where updates are free? got it, doesn't make much sense for a subscription for a 20 dollar plugin,

Been thinking about this one all day....
Not impressed with the new look. Not impressed with the upgrade path....
Not impressed with yet another concept of "performance view".....
Think I will stick with Dimension Pro and Rapture....
edit - excuse me, I typed "performance view" when I meant "instrument view"....

Since I got Rapture for free, i can't really grumble too much about the upgrade price. I do think its a little steep though, especially for those that own more than one product. The intro discount isn't really significant enough to encourage early adoption either, considering how buggy Z3ta+2 was upon release (so I'm told).
All that aside, i am interested. I really like Rapture but i find it a chore to use, as it is I use it mainly as a presets synth since editing sounds in it really is no fun. If this pro version makes it a more pleasant experience to delve into, i may consider it a worthwhile upgrade. The inclusion of DimPro seems a good thing too, i don't own that but have used it briefly and found it to be much the same (great presets, unpleasant to use in any deeper manner). DimPro uses FLAC for its content i believe, so 10GB of sounds would translate to 20GB's worth if that's still the case.
I'll certainly be keeping an eye on this for release but I could happily get by without it for a while and wait for a sale instead.

BTW, I really like the real Rapture and Z3TA+2 just fine. Just don't like this foul creation.
Just out of curiosity:
what do you think Z3ta+ had got to do with this?
(considering the fact that in reality it is an entirely unrelated product)

Well, entirely unrelated it is not, as sweetwater(maybe others too?) have this upgrade option:jens wrote:MarlaPodolski wrote:Considering I bought Z3TA+2 for $100 and Rapture for $20, this upgrade price is complete nonsense.dnekm wrote:The upgrade price is ridiculous. "Cakewalk Rapture Pro - Upgrade from Dimension Pro, Rapture, any Z3TA+, or any SONAR
Virtual Wavetable Synthesizer Plug-in with 10GB of Sound Content, Six Simultaneous Sound Elements, and 42 Simultaneous Modulators - Mac/PC VST, AU Note: This is a special opportunity for users of Cakewalk Dimension Pro, Rapture, Z3TA+ or Sonar to upgrade to Rapture Pro..."
Haven't seen that option anywhere else though...
Oth, I love using Rapture and Silvestri's Mu3eum and Universal packs, but not sure about getting this. Just bought MPowersynth, but some GAS is present(as always)
Edit: This could be a special offer by sweetwater or else the pricing info seems a bit strange:
Retail Price $119.00
Sweetwater Price Drop -$20.00
Sale price: $99.00
Could be I can't think straight due to lack of sleep, but...

I want to get excited about this, but it doesn't look like it offers enough for owners of both Dimension Pro and Rapture to justify the steep upgrade price as others have pointed out. I love Rapture, but have always hated how small and fiddly the interface is - this would probably fix that but I was hoping for a killer feature like a granular engine or something
If they lowered the upgrade price they'd probably get a tonne of sales from existing customers but as it stands this is probably only going to attract people who don't have Rapture and Dimension Pro (which can't be many the way they've been whoring them out lately).

Somebody buy it and let us know if it's larger than the Tiny Rapture on the screen. As for the Sweetwater price mentioned above- that is the same upgrade price that I saw on the Cakewalk site. $99.

BTW- the Sweetwater site makes no mention of the product not being available yet, but the Cakewalk site does. I wonder which is correct??

The more I read about this the more fed up I get.
One good thing with Cakewalk used to be simple offline activation, but that is no more?:
Install and activate with Cakewalk Command Center ***
* Windows XP is blocked, Vista not officially supported
** Mac OS X not supported on older 32-bit processors (1st Gen Intel Macs)
*** Internet connection required

So they just merged some features of Rapture and Dimension Pro into Rapture Pro?
Why didn't they make Rapture easier to use?
Why do I need Rapture and Dimension Pro in one plugin (as I already have both separately)?
