My Top synths for 2015?
Iris 2, Synthmaster, Alchemy - Most time spent creating sounds patches, and tweaking.
Z3ta+2, Dimension Pro and Rapture - playing with the patch banks, jamming.
Running all the above through TAL-Vocoder.
Old Korg X3.
I might end up with Omnisphere when I get the cash.
demoed the rest from uhe, xfer, spire but somehow had to choose to focus on what sounds like my old set of keyboards but running through nice filters and fx.

Zebra/Zebra HZ
Nave
I've spent the most time with those two, both programming and using presets. They had me putting aside Serum, Kontakt, Alchemy, Electra, Diva...even Reaktor 6.

I just won Nave in a contest and am trying to get into it but for some reason, I'm kind of hitting a wall. Some of the programming "features" are a bit obtuse for my liking, especially the advanced wavetable stuff. I think Serum's methods are more straight forward and easier to grok.Apostate wrote:Zebra/Zebra HZ

I'll keep at it to see if it eventually clicks. Sound is fine. Just having trouble wrapping my head around the quirky design.

In no particular order...
Omnisphere 2 (the new version really makes it something I use all the time)
Mpowersynth
Serum
Diva
Syn'X 2
Diversion
Spectral
Electra 2
Zebra 2/HZ
Reaktor 5 (soon to be 6)
Honorable mention:
I haven't purchased it yet, but I'll give a nod to Obscurium as well.
Blue 2
Xils 4 (don't have it yet, still on v3)
Oddity 2 (don't have it because it breaks my "no synths that can't use aftertouch" rule, but it sounds amazing enough to make me break my rule)

I like Serum's sound less and less, I'll probably sell it soon. I realize that's blasphemywagtunes wrote:I just won Nave in a contest and am trying to get into it but for some reason, I'm kind of hitting a wall. Serum for me was mostly the effect and filter modulation parameters...but I just don't like the actual sound of the filters much (it's just too flat-sounding to me). I just don't get that presence that Zebra and Nave give me...not to mention Z3ta.
But that's just me, it's still a fine synth. I'm one of the iconoclasts I guess. To me the top two Computer Music prize winners don't measure up to Zebra. Just my humble opinion.

Alchemy 2, Bazille and Reaktor 6.
I have Omnisphere 2 as well but it's not blown me away as much as I'd hoped, and I keep hitting the cpu wall.

My top soft synth of '15 is Bazille... The same as '09-'14. Honorable mentions for Aalto, Zebra, Reaktor 6.
