You mean everyone doesnt get their own personalised init patch... ?

Set Theory claim:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate.
Red is Red and anything that is Red is an object, a class in itself or a real thing if you prefer"

That was intended to just be a bit of gentle fun. I wasn't serious.JonHodgson wrote:The intention was never to restore the synth to its default state, but the parameter.deastman wrote:Ah yes, CTRL+Click on each and every parameter. What a sensible way to restore the synth to it's default state.
Perhaps you could hire Spectrasonics to design a bank of init patches.
As I've already stated, during development I did not receive any request to implement an "initialize all" feature, NOT ONE, perhaos our beta testers and patch programmers just don't work that way. So I hope people can forgive me for not thinking of and implementing every feature every user might want.
Now it seems some people do want to work that way, that's fair enough, and I understand that everybody wants built in features for their preferred way of working. But it's the work of a couple of minutes to set up your own (or you can download one that someone else did), and then if you want just assign it to a memory button for instant recall.
A Perfect solution? No, but probably quicker than typing a message on KVR saying that there should be an init patch feature.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

People looking for patches might like to check out mcnoone's fractal soundset for impOSCar2

There's a demo, but at $10 dollars I'd say it's hard to go wrong, I'll spend that much on a couple of shandies at tonight's jam.

Just bought imp2 in the sale... I LOVE THIS SYNTH!
Always loved the filter since ver 1. Jon, were you responsible for that? If so, how tricky was it to program?

A well-behaved signature.

Yes, the filters are mine.JerGoertz wrote:Just bought imp2 in the sale... I LOVE THIS SYNTH!

There was a lot of measuremnt of real ones and running of spice simulations to work out what was going on, that took a while.
The actual filter design was surprisingly straightforward, once I knew what was happening with various elements of the real filters I managed to hone in on the key bits and how to implement them pretty fast. I'm not sure if that's because I was smart or lucky!
But then writing hand optimized SSE and Altivec assembler versions was quite a bit of work.
So all in all quite a lot of work, though I don't know if "tricky" is the word, at each point I could see what I had to do next.

You must be starting from the wrong "init" patch. That always makes people grumpy.JonHodgson wrote: sorry, I do seem to be a bit irritable lately for some reason.

I guess your right. Some of those amatuer "init" patches are terrible. The sound is half made already. It's just like tweaking a preset.whyterabbyt wrote: What nonsense. What good is a homemade amateur 'init' patch compared to a proper professionally-made one?
I wouldn't buy a synth that doesn't come with any "pro" init patches. Doesn't matter if you've got he sound design skills of Howard Scarr or Eric Perrsing - your sounds will turn out like turds (and amatuer ones at that) if you don't start from a pro "init" patch.
