Can I hold back to wait for K11, that's the big question?
same, when k11 should be out?
Look like i m gonna have to buy this first and then wait for k11 upgrade to be on sales.

This looks like a great update from NI. Probably won't buy it now, but it might make me not skip a version when upgrading Komplete next
Sweet child in time...

Yeah probably me too - I guess this could push K11 back a bit anyway (they don't want everyone thinking there's no point in upgrading)

I could write a novel-length post about my love for Reaktor and happiness over this release (my mouse could not move quick enough to "Buy"), but will just hit a few points:

* Reaktor's core engine sounds brilliant. There are a probably a few VST's out there that can better approach analog in terms of sound, but the key is that Reaktor is a remarkably solid foundation for instrument design of any kind. Yeah - Monark does not sound exactly like a hardware Moog (like beating a dead horse to argue that) but for probably 95% of producers it's going to get you close enough at a fraction of the price. Now, those components are modular, so put that Monark filter on some digital oscillators or wait until 20 users upload some brilliant wavetable modules to the library, for free.)

* Speaking of which - the user-library will explode, and if the past is any indication, the quality will be remarkable. Many of the user-library instruments and effects are remarkable. If you purchased Reaktor and used it for nothing but Boscomac's library, you've gotten a value. (http://boscomac.free.fr/ - and please donate if you download, guy deserves it).

* It looks like this means completely updated UI components, and they are absolutely gorgeous, doing a great job of skirting the line between skeuomorphic and modern - tough to please everyone but they are close here.

* This is going to be the closest many of us come to joy of Eurorack.

* If history is any indication NI's pricing is quite decent, and if they start selling modules like DLC they will likely be of significant quality/value.

I tend not to be hyperbolic, but I have seriously gotten more joy out of Reaktor than any other musical purchase in my life; a $99 this upgrade is practically a gift. Imagine if you could do could upgrade your favorite car like this.

I'm feeling some love for those wacky Berliners (Berlinites?). :hyper:

Echoes in the Attic wrote:Looks like a lot of stuff released with Komplete 10 has just become redundant like Rounds and Molekular, even Monark. Most of the modules of this stuff is in Reaktor 6 now.
Rounds is not redundant - only delay and reverb were lifted, but not the oscillators or filters.
I thought I read in one of the descriptions that oscillators and filter modules were used too. Looks like not directly, though the bento box stuff looks similar.

Interesting ... how is the GUI edition ? do we have better choice than in V5 ?
I have made a synth with V5 , will it be compatible with V6?

Post

NI stuff is usually backwards compatible, so yes, you should be able to load your v5 ensembles. Then again, R6 installs alongside R5 (doesn't overwrite it), so that's another way to go.

What can I say - antialiased and bendable cables, changing color depending on signal type. Pretty neat. Also they allowed disabling the 4x4 px snap for GUI elements (that one annoyed the hell out of me), and you can choose fonts and font sizes for text labels etc.

This looks good, and I hope NI add more blocks, though I'm sure it won't be long before the user library has plenty. If it's not overly complicated, I may try to create a few myself. And maybe it will make reaktor less intimidating, and be the push needed to explore it beyond the user library.

I'll get this when it goes on sale, which means I can easily skip K11, unless of course it includes Absynth 6 or Massive 2, or something that makes it worthwhile.

They must have something special up their sleeve since they are releasing this before Komplete 11.
I can't help but think that we are going to see a full migration of Komplete and Maschine in a full blown DAW with NI total integration!
How does it make sense to have NI do a DAW and Maschine software at the same time. They are not apple.
Maschine software being the DAW with Komplete integration which is almost there.

Wow I didn't get much sleep last night, but when i woke up this morning and saw this I didn't care about that i had to get up. My mind is pretty much blown right now! This looks incredibly fun!

Hmm I can't wait to demo this out and see how the CPU usage is.

Hmm... nice but no automatic update for owners of Komplete 10. I guess it will wait.

I received info about the update from Twisted Tools before I received an email from NI... weird.

Well this was an instant purchase for me. Anybody got their serial yet? I'm messing around with it in demo mode at the moment but it's starting to get on my nerves that I have to restart it every 30 minutes.

It appears that i am entitled to an upgrade, having the mysterious 'Reaktor 5 Update as Bundle-Supplement' in my user account. I've had Komplete since version 2.0 so not sure when that appeared.

Tempting. Don't know if I could sell it though once Komplete 11 comes out.

Very tempting.
