Maybe they're trying to be like iZotope !
Yes, as noted, I'll have to try for myself. But nothing surprises me any more.

Can any Melodyne 4 user please let me know whether the audio to midi export has improved in any way? IMHO, this function was one of the weak spots of previous versions, it never produced any realistic results when listening to the exported file with a midi instrument.

I had the same problem but then found conversionsto midi improved greatly whenSkorpius wrote:Can any Melodyne 4 user please let me know whether the audio to midi export has improved in any way? -- the original audio was relatively dry (not verb'd, delayed etc)
-- I "flattened" the notes before converting, by which I mean, selecting all the notes, hard-tuning to 100%, removing any modulation with the modulation tool, and removing pitch drift with the pitch drift tool. If you were to play back audio of, say, a voice after this treatment, it would sound quite robotic etc, but would translate well to midi.
I've been able to convert my voice to a flute part this way, and it worked great.

I had been considering upgrading from Editor 2 to Studio anyway. $126 is a done deal for me now.

Why? Did they have a better pitch editor in Nectar 1?lingyai wrote:Maybe they're trying to be like iZotope!

No ... sorry, I should have quoted what I was referring to but didn't as I'd thought my reply would appear right under Sampleconstruct's earlier post i.e.
"I haven't upgraded myself yet, but that post on GS says nothing until you have tested it for yourself, why would they de-prove their algos, only iZotope does that (or used to do that until they understood)."

I bought the upgrade from Editor to Studio 4 from Audiodeluxe for $126. When I log into my account at Melodyne, it tells me that the serial number they gave me is invalid. I have Editor 2.1.2 shown on my account. I wonder if AD failed to mention that the upgrade is only from Editor 4 or something? Who has done the upgrade from editor 2?

Think I figured it out. Choose the first option "buy an upgrade" even though you already bought it. It will let you enter the serial there and download. Just finished the download, so I'll see how it goes. Am I daft?rustman wrote:I bought the upgrade from Editor to Studio 4 from Audiodeluxe for $126. Yeah,
I don't know about you, but I find that the Celemony website is not the most straightforward to navigate.
Seriously tempted to spend some money - but what other delights await us this month ?
I think I'll keep my powder dry for now......

Being a Editor 2.1.2 owner I was able to get the Essentials 4.01 upgrade. I decided I wanted to
see what the Studio would bring to my workflow and downloaded the trial version.
After I installed it I still only see Essentials.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Cheers,
Scott
edit: It looks like I hadn't activated the trial version on their website. All good now!

I agree about the website. About a year ago, I was looking to see if they had an upgrade path from editor to studio. I clicked a link to upgrades, and all sorts were listed but NOT editor to studio. I sent them an email and they responded with a different link to take me to a page that offered it. I gave them the links I had followed so that they could make an effort to build a bug-free website.mikeybabes wrote:Yeah,

They did, however, respond promptly to the emails I sent last night. Fortunately, I solved it myself using counter-intuitive logic beforehand.
