Makes sense in that particular context, that there wold be times where the tools may influence your musical desicions in some way, depending on how you make music, and especially if you actually "need" the daw to make music.
Otoh, there are many thousands of people for which the daw isn't an instrument or any such other factor, they write their music the way it was done for many centuries and just record it and mix it. I can't imagine a jazz band's music being much influenced by the daw, since they likely sorted out the entire song and arrangment and everything else, literally speaking, before even turning it on.
Like most things, it probably depends on who you ask and there is no definitive always true answer. But sure, if your're making electronic music and clicking in 1000 midi notes, the daw may much more influence the end result. If you're a country music singer songwriter, maybe not so much.

The fact that you can load FL Studio as a plugin in another DAW means you really can't go wrong by making the switch. Use FL Studio for what it's great at and, if necessary, load it in a DAW that is more linear or audio-centric. I use Maschine as a plugin inside of Studio One and I feel that this gives me the best of two very different ways of working.Kinh wrote:Well the evidence would suggest otherwise. Personally, I've used most DAW's and my order of preference are Studio One, Maschine, Cubase, Logic, Pro Tools, Samplitude, Bitwig, Ableton, FL Studio, and Reaper. That's not to say any of those later ones are bad, I just happened to work very well and fluidly with the first four right off the bat. I've never used Digital Performer even though I've always been interested in it. I've only used early versions of Reason, I don't think my opinion of it counts since the current version is so vastly different from what it was back then.
