You clearly mentioned Xils, and refered to Ingo, or me, or both. So next time you're joking, why not targetting some other people, or companies, if it's not beyond your imagination. Or better, because I would not want to push your compliment towards other people -they dont deserve it, don't they ?-, making jokes that doesnt mention people or companies. To much asking ? Yes, I know. You would have had every opportunity to express the same idea with humour without mentioning people, or companies, or both. Fact. You decided for the other way. Fact. Once and for all, your sense of humor, as I see it : Double standard, and more than often targeted ad hominem. Have fun/whyterabbyt wrote:I made a joking comment about the success of 'Other' as a choice in the poll. Which softsynth do you like to use the most?

FYI, Other Synth is by the developer of That Plugin as if it wasn't obvious, and Other Synth has an incredible feature set as any user will tell you....

I'm certainly the only Sound Designer to post audio demos of soundbanks on KVR. Why don't you flame other people making similar things ?
I dont own fm8, didnt listen to you demo's or buy any of your banks.
I linked to you because you are the biggest offender, by a nautical mile.

Well spotted.Lotuzia wrote:You clearly mentioned Xils
No, I referred to someone who 'doesnt work for XILS'. One would have thought that that's actually a lot of people, but there you go. Only one of them have some odd reason for thinking that that's specifically about them, though. Egocentric much?, and refered to Ingo, or me, or both.
Well, you're a bit late there, because I already did. After all, Ive only mentioned XILS 28 times in 15 years, compared to your once-every-four-posts.So next time you're joking, why not targetting some other people, or companies, if it's not beyond your imagination.
Glad you could be such a humorless twat about it though. Dont forget to mention something you're selling before you go. What? You already did? Gooooood boy.

I think Synthmaster should replace Symptohm in this list. I wasn't even aware there was a synth called Symptohm.
And as already said Zebra, Massive, Harmor, Alchemy, Monark are a lot more popular than some of the names here (Surge, KLC, Elektro, or even Poly-ANA or DEXED), especially Massive which might well be the most popular synth right now.

I thought the question was "what is your favorite synth to use" NOT which synth do you think is most popular. I like to use Symptohm and Poly-Ana, not Massive. YMMV.lolilol1975 wrote:I think Synthmaster should replace Symptohm in this list. I wasn't even aware there was a synth called Symptohm.

According to my notes on tracks I've made this year, ignoring Kontakt and Maschine's sampler:
Chipsounds & Serum (tied for first)
Bazille (close second)
PPG Wave 2.2V (close third)
In 57 tracks I've used Chipsounds & Serum 9 times each. I used my MicroBrute 21 times, and Atmegatron 17 times. I've probably used some sort of sample player about 55 times though.

Despite the tiny GUI I like to use Hybrid 3 the most, of the usual subtractive ones it sounds the best to me and is pretty complete and musical.

Going through my list of synths and other sound generators, these are the ones I use the most.
Battery 4
Dune 2
Electra 2
Icarus
Omnisphere
Pianoteq
EWQL CC Collection
Strum Acoustic
Strum Electric
Synthmaster
Zebra 2
The above products cover just about everything I could possibly want to do musically from Broadway to EDM. Everything else I have sees very specialized use for when I'm looking for a very specific sound that I know that synth can do easier than another synth. This is very true with a lot of Reaktor ensembles that are very, very specialized.
