Demo file is same as update file, correct?
Yes, demo and update are the same! Simply install it over the old version.

It makes creating step sequence style melodies and rhythms easy even in non standard scales. Very useful for a mouse musician such as myself :)
Nice one, thank you :)! I like the build-up that is slowly growing during the song :).

And it's a fitting name - Sundrive :hihi:

Just bought this puppy yesterday and started to make noise this morning.

I'd like to use channel 2 for my melody part so I create my pattern in the pattern trigger window. Say if I would like to just copy bar 2's pattern to bar 4, please let me know is there any quick way or command to archive this ?

You can do something like this with the new multi-pattern feature. The steps would be this:

* Create a pattern on channel 2 and fill the Pattern Trigger Editor with a single line.
* Open the "Advanced" section of the pattern and activate the multi-pattern option.
* Now you can work with five different patterns for this instrument (green, orange, red, blue, dark green).
* Your original pattern will have the default colour green.
* Click on "Edit -> Copy pattern".
* Switch to the orange pattern, click on "Edit -> Paste pattern".
* You can alter this copy of your original pattern however you like.
* Finally, draw an orange line in the Pattern Trigger Editor that covers bar 4.

This sounds like a lot of steps, but actually it's quite easy as soon as you used it for a few times.

You can see that technique in this video:

Thanks Hauke for the info. But let me use a picture to describe my question.

Say I would like to base on the pattern on BAR-3 and copy it to BAR-1 in order to fine tune or make some variation, I am afraid that multi-color-pattern cannot serve this purpose. Did I miss something or mis-understand Multi-pattern's usage?

Ah, I think I understand you now (I hope^^).

You don't want to copy the pattern (bottom box), you want to copy a part of the Pattern Trigger data (top box), right? Say, you want to copy the "M"-line in bar 3 and paste it to bar 1.

If this is the case, then I am sorry that this is not easily possible at the moment. But I will see if I can change that in a future version.

Few FRs:

Global volume control on chords page
Ability to set individual step volumes on chords page similar to pattern step volume sliders
Ability to enter individual step value numbers on chords page
Ability to see and set all 88 notes on keyboard

If I set keyboard to -1 octave and enter some notes and then remove -1 octave to set more notes, it seems to have no affect on new note entries. The same note entered and re-entered using -1 octave on then off still sounds the same.
I kept getting a low note sounding when I had all visible keys with no notes. I transposed chord up and the phantom note I couldn't see appeared. I would like to see all set notes if possible. Maybe I'm missing how to view notes below and above the keyboard range that is shown.

Is there already the capability to transpose whole chords up/down x number of semitones?

The Chords View is not intended for these things. In the Chords View you simply set the chords that you need in your song later on. Volume adjustments etc. happen in the Main View.
I get why you want these options in the Chords View as well, but I don't want to mix the concepts.

Can you explain what entering "individual step value numbers" would do?

The -1 octave checkbox has no influence on notes that you set on the keyboard display with your mouse. It is only relevant for the chord buttons: When -1 octave is checked, a click on a chord button will play it back one octave deeper than usual (you can also do a right-click with the mouse)

Yes, a larger octave range would make sense here. I will see what I can do!

No, this isn't possible yet. Easy inversions: Yes (arrow keys). Easy octave transpositions: Yes. Semitone transpositions: No.

Thank you Hauke.
>>Can you explain what entering "individual step value numbers" would do?<<
I was just curious what the various numbers/symbols that are set on the steps when you enter a chord mean and whether they could be entered/adjusted directly rather than clicking a chord again. I imagine it might be tedious to program and explain how the number/symbol translates to each chord in every scale. Probably not worth it.

How is dragged midi file auto-named? Would it be difficult to have dialog box open on drag in order to give it a meaningful name by user?

These numbers will tell you more about the relative position of the bass note of the chord. A "1" is a bass note that is identical to the root note of the scale, a "2" is the second note of the scale, and so on. A "!" indicates that the chord contains notes outside the scale (the displayed number will refer to the semitone distance to the root then)

Main View: Name of the instrument box (you can change the name with a double-click on the box)
Chords View: "Chords" + Song Part name

Sorry, I don't understand the Chords + Song Part Name instruction.
What I want to do is give the dragged midi file a meaningful name via dialog box when I drag it to desktop or other location instead of unmeaningful letters+numbers name.
Currently when you drag the midi, it auto-names the file to something unrecognizable.

Ah, OK. Well, I would recommend to use "File -> Export song part to MIDI file" then. This will give you the option to choose an own file name.

Hi there,

Please bear with my chord knowledge. I'd like to use Sundog Studio 3.0 to make a chord progression for Alan Walker's Faded where I found the pattern as below :

Key=D# Minor

Intro:
D#m B F# C#

Anyone please verify my setting is correct or not.

Bass note = D Minor
Chord 1 = D#min(i) Chord2 = B5 Chord 3 = F#5 Chord 4 = C#5

Thanks!

Hmm... is there any particular reason why you are using open 5ths for the B, F#, and C# chords in the intro instead of major chords?
