The current Rob Papen collection holds synthesizers with many features and various synthesis types which at times can be daunting to master in all their depths.

That is why we went looking for something simple and direct.
Rob has already said that it won't be added to the current eXplorer4 bundle - he said once they have another product, it will become part of an eXplorer 5 bundle. I think he also said that if you buy Go2, the $49 price will be credited towards your upgrade cost to eXplorer 5.

Interesting. where did you read/hear all this?

It was in the GO2 livestream,
listen here:

So if you have Exp4 and buy now Go2, then in the future your upgrade to Exp5 will be cheaper :)

Ok, here's a little tune I started working on while messing with Go2. I didn't take it further becuase it was just meant to be me messing around with Go2. Its all Go2 except for the drums which are Punch. No effects, all presets, into and EQ and limter. 96k

I think operation success to deliver a more simple synth.
The implementation and visualisation of the oscillator is a nice innovation.
Also easy to pick chords and use them in the arp.

Off course, this is made with elements from their previous synths which have been assembled in a simpler package.
You can do all this - and a lot more - with Predator 2.
And the 'modulating oscillator' is nice but going through the presets, after a while it starts a bit to feel as a one trick pony. And it is just one oscillator.

I'll stick with Predator 2. It has 3 oscillators that can do the same trick (albeit with more effort) but more importantly for me the sound of Predator 2 is more VA with dedicated VA controls like drift amount, velocity shape, attack shape and decay/release shape.

A very nice synth for the money though.

Have you tried to recreate a GO2 patch 1:1 in Predator 2 ? I haven't but yesterday I fired up P2 and spent some more time with it's Osc Morph function and there just seems to be a difference in the sound of the two instruments.

I'm not going to try and put a word to it but there is something about GO2's sound I find very appealing even though I own P2.

It sounds nicer to me than Predator 2. More like Dune 2 (the pluck like sounds especially). So if you have Dune 2, not sure if GO2 would add something!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I did not do a 1:1 but i alternated between playing with Predator 2 and go2. Predator 2 has more a VA sound for me. 5

Go2 is constructed with dedicated controls for the 'modulating oscillator' and a fast workflow.
Predator 2 is more generic in nature but you could setup a template patch with a mod matrix that does pretty much the same thing.
Glancing at the included waveforms, they seem exactely the same.

It does have nice presets though that are ready to ... go.

The GUI is ugly but the workflow seems pretty good !

Purchased ! The sound is simply mindblowing for the price ! This is not a nice synth, this is a great-sounding synth ! The sound is detailed and clear, the presets show a huge range of sounds and give a true professional feeling.

What happened between the horribly bad and 15 years too late-sounding Predator serie and this one ?

Congrats Rob Papen !!!

Tried back-to-back against P2 with the same settings on basic saw and square waves and the results were identical.

I really liked what i see and hear and the price is good too.....but then again....it doesn´t is something where i think "wow, i must buy it". Hard to get that feeling these days anymore
However, i wish Rob good luck with it. I like this guy!

What I'm talking about is the sounds I can use and play with, what I'm given and what Rob Papen is showing me using the full potential of the synth. When I browse the presets from Predator, they give me the feeling I'm hearing sounds from 1998. When I browse the presets of Go2, I feel they're from today.
