I also wonder about the quality. It is rather cheap for a synth made in the EU. Behringer stuff is made in a huge factory in Asia, if I am not mistaken. Otherwise it would probably cost 1.5 to 2 times as much.Robmobius wrote:Hmmm... One thing I'm always worried about super cheap hardware synths like this is how well are they actually built?
You get what you pay for and all...
Personally, if I was going to get a mono synth I'd pay the extra cash for something like a Waldorf Pulse because you know it will be around for years.
I can't attest to IK's 'paradigm shifter' but I generally don't like gadgets that have touchpad buttons as they never seem to last (from my experience). But whatever floats yer boat.
Are the components (filter etc.) bought from the usual suppliers or made by IKM?
Just out of curiosity, where in Italy is the factory and how many employees does it have?
I assume this synth is more like an experiment in order to gain experience for the production of more advanced hardware in the future.
The AA batteries mentioned seem perfectly normal. I still have several devices using them, e.g. remote control, transistor radio (
I am still using the rechargeable AA and AAA batteries I bought with the charger 15 years ago.

You're right.SLiC wrote:The paradigm shifted as they are a company that made 'virtual' analog synths now making 'real' analog synths, it shifted for IK, not the users....Echoes in the Attic wrote:Seems like a nice synth, especially for the money. I have to laugh at all the people saying if you just add anther XXX you could have a (insert better synth)...I could another XX to all the synths suggested and get better again....this synth may not be for you (especially if you already have hardware analog) but the only fair question is what synth can you get for the same money that is better. For me half of the reason I bought it is the form factor, portability and 'fun' factor.
I paid £160 for the UNO after redeeming some JAM points I didn't know I had, I cant think of anything better for that money. The list gets shorter if you want a portable/battery powered synth for with a good sequencer (I have a Prophet8, Moog, ARP...si I have analog, but this is pocket sized FUN)...the only real comparison I can think of is the Novation CCT for about 50 quid more, but that's virtual analog (not that that really matters, it also sounds great and is also 'fun')

Sounds good! It would be great to see a short tutorial video showing how to save and program the presets / sequences with the parameters per step. Also any information on the delay would be appreciated. Seeing that this was just announced .... I'll try to be patient. Looking forward to a mail delivery in July. - Scotty

I just can’t get over the negativity and hate here. Seems to me like a lot of group think, people just jumping on a “I hate IK so I hate this synth.” Type of deal.

While I'm not sure why a video with a real keyboard player using our first analog synth in a video about said synth featuring sounds made by said synth would be off-putting, here's one where Erik Norlander (great keyboard player, also a key member of the team that brought you the Andromeda A6) talks about UNO Synth if that's more suitable:

Oh, judging from the video it has huge membrane controls, right?
I like them, although others hate them
I hope the synth doesn't overheat because the entire surface seems pretty much sealed off.
What are those speakers in the video, I am looking for something like that to replace my crappy Creative speakers...

Its typical KVR....there are only 3 types of people here, creators, consumers and critics....creators see the beauty and possibilities of just about everything musical, consumers compare specifications, critics...well, they just look for the negative in everything and feel the need to share (misery loves companyperpetual3 wrote:I just can’t get over the negativity and hate here. I for one don't necessarily hate it or IK. That video however....perpetual3 wrote:I just can’t get over the negativity and hate here. Seems to me like a lot of group think, people just jumping on a “I hate IK so I hate this synth.” Type of deal.
Same thing for the Bass Station 2:

The speakers are our iLoud Micro Monitors in white. They were just released in white recently.

Don't open the "paradigm shift" thread. This is harmless, compared. But, ya, couldn't agree more. So silly. It's just a handful of people though, thinking they speak for anyone.perpetual3 wrote:I just can’t get over the negativity and hate here. That is a major difference. Much less mechanical wear concern. I thought they were membrane switches too.perpetual3 wrote:Not membrane - touch capacitive.fluffy_little_something wrote:Oh, judging from the video it has huge membrane controls, right?![]()
