Admittedly, the latter is not developed / supported any more, but I hear it works quite well as it is.
Some owners get an email from the dev saying that he had plan for it.
With no time space...

The Mangle has 8 slots (in each one residing a sample to mangle).
The mod system is pretty clever too (Drag & Drop/Mod Matrix view with selectable type view).
Well though one page/window view.
Among other things.

Quanta also has his strengths (*edit: no Osc and noise generator for The Mangle*), like showed in the video above.
Thanks for sharing btw!

Granular synthesis wise, it's nothing mind blowing nor never seen before, I don’t think it’s kicking the butt of the other big grain synths we already know. It’s just another granular synth, but it’s doing it well and it has few tricks up its sleeves. GUI is very nice and quite intuitive. AD is also I nice developer with quality tools that’s worth supporting imo.

Yes. For me this synth already failed with its tabs. Especially in granular synthesis i want to play with modulations and see the nice waveform with its grains.
Also $79 is not cheap.

MPE is nice and of course since i can use the 7.99 app it´s not expensive. But yep, i wouldn´t pay 10 times more for the same as plug-in.

My big workstation still runs 7 and has lots of crash problems with newer AD releases unfortunately. Gonna check out the demo fo sho.

Which is great but....I wonder if there are any expression curves, or mod mappers, or anyway to scale the modulation applied to pressure and slide (CC74). Without such curves, it could become unmanageable pretty quickly, especially on the 'press' dimension.
I would guess this would be managed by adjusting the depth of modulation in the matrix. If you use Roli then you can adjust the curves from the dashboard application also which I find useful. I have various presets for different synths with different curves.

As a proud owner of PADSHOP PRO I‘m asking you: shall I buy it?
If yes, why exactly?
Thanks!

Give it a try. Tough to say... For granular purpose only, I think Padshop's granular engine is superior and sounds better. But Padshop is 100% whole grain while Quanta does more and have few other tricks. Really depends on your needs. And of course AD support is way much better and easier than Steinberg, so that's another plus for Quanta.

PS: I can load my own samples into Quanta, yes?

Yep! It can load all kinds of formats, even MP3 and Flac.
