"Do they Know it's Christmas" by Band Aid.
This song makes me sick. I honestly have to turn the radio off when this comes on. I have no problem with the very good cause it was created for, the lyrics and the people involved are what get to me.
For a start, "Do they know it's Christmas" doesn't work as a title because a lot of the thirld world are not christians, so why the f**k would they?
And that publicity baiting video, urgh! So many has beens publically grasping at their careers. Most of them when interviewed, were unable to talk coherently about what the record was actually for. "It's for ver kiddeez in afreeka, innit?"
The song is wrong on so many levels. I'll save my full rant for another occasion!
BTW I don't hold Bob Geldof or Midge Ure responsible for this, they were the two who weren't in this for the exposure.
