I was asked via PM about Offset parameter, so let me explain, that Offset in Fazortan 1 does exactly the same what Base Frequency in Fazortan 2. We've decided to move the parameter and rename it so it'd have much more sense in the context of Phaser effect.

Thanks a lot for the clarification! Really happy that everything is just better and nothing is gone.

I know this is an old ass thread, but I just had to comment.
I never upgraded to Fazortan 2. Version 1 was always good enough for me, and I love the sound. Apparently, some discount coupons have been sitting in my d16 account for the last 5 years(!), and the thought crosses my mind, now, to maybe upgrade. So I download the demo--and nope!--no way I'll be updating! D16 completely changed the sound, for the worse.
The original Fazortan was juicy, a bit edgy in some respects, but inherently creamier. Version 2 is more resonant, and filtery; sounds LESS like a phaser and more like sweeping bandpass filters. The "Small Stone" presets sound nothing like a Small Stone, which I owned back in the early 90's. I recall the sound like it was yesterday, and Fazortan 1 sounds more Small Stoney than Fazortan 2, by a mile.
With respect to Fazortan 2 by itself, the high-quality mode sounds significantly better than normal-quality mode, as the phasing is allowed to "sweep" higher in the spectrum, making it creamier and more airy; more analog. Normal quality sounds a bit stuffy and cramped (at 48kHz project SR). High-quality mode is a requirement, but you pay with a big CPU hit.
Default preset in Fazortan 1 = "Funkotronique" = heavy, thick, washy, creamy, phasey AF.
Call up the same preset in Fazortan 2 = resonantly-phasey, bristly, light flavor like La Croix, airy.
In fact, some of the original presets aren't even present in version 2 because, perhaps, they couldn't even be replicated with any level of dignity.
IMHO, I definitely think d16 missed the mark. They added a great GUI, yes, but they taketh so much away.
Next up: do I upgrade Toraverb to Toraverb 2? The sonic testing begins...
