:?: I bought it the other day and was very excited until I tried to set it up under Cubase SX2 on Mac OSX 10.3.5/ MOTU 828 mkII. First, I was not sure how to upgrade the firmware to 1.6 so I hooked it up to my PC. Ran the update there and it worked after a few tweaks. By the way it runs awesome on my PC in SX, in Mackie Control emulation mode! Nice! Love it!

Took it back to the Mac and SX displays only one MIDI port OUT from it - port 2. MIDI port, port1, and port2 are active as IN. In my Device setup the rest of the BCF OUT ports are not active. I have my MIDI controller going MIDI IN to BCF and BCF USB to the Mac. I tried USB 2 and USB 3 modes - 3 seemed to work better. I works partially in MC emultaion mode - faders don't work. If I use a fader it would move the corresponding channel's fader and it will reset itself back to 0. Meanwhile, the fader on Cubase mixer accepts the change. I absolutely don't get it! Solo, R enable, monitor and Pan work, settings for the EQ, Send, Insert don't work. I tried as HUI, no luck, LC is about the same as MC.

Has any of you guys set this bad boy on Mac yet? It could be something very simple, but I was not able to figure it out. Since my G5 is my primary DAW I have to make it work! I have lot's of projects I need to complete asap. BCF was to improve my workflow, but now I am waistng time for setup. I have a feeling the device needs some improvements on the Mac side!

Any input would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

I don't know how to set it up on a mac, but I'm afraid you should have looked twice before buying this device to set it up on a mac : next to the BCFview direct link on www.behringer.com, you can read :"- only for Windows® computers (98SE or higher)"
It doesn't say if Mackie modes are to function on a mac, but already, without the BCFview, you're like completely blind. :-o

You should try and ask on http://www.bcontrol.tk/

Ive been trying everying, midi-ox, gives this error:
SysEx Output Devices: The port is transmitting data to the device. Wait until the data has been transmitted, and then try again.
SendSx looks as if everything is goign ok, but the BCR just dosn't respond with the circling lights like it used to.

I tried updating the usb midi drivers, changing between the 2 global modes (Single preset/ All presets) I've tried changing the device ID around and sending to the specific device number from the bcr/f editor program.

I tried switching it around to diffrent USB ports..
Everything I can think of is just exausted. Even contacting behringer support on sunday, no answer yet. So if anyone else here has had any kind of problenm like this please explain what you did to fix it! Thanks in advance...

OK, I'm stumped. I downloaded and used the bcfredit.exe program from the cubase forum to successfully upload all the presets from my BCR2000 to the program, and save them to .syx files. And I created a couple presets on my own. Now how in the heck do you get them up to the BCR2000?

I'm in Global U-1 mode on the BCR, Global Sys ID = 1 and Global Receive channel to MIDI Channel 1. I call up Preset #16 on the BCR (which is blank). I set the exact same settings on the bcredit program (SysID=1, Chan = 1), make sure "BCR2000(1)" is my MIDI output device and hit "Send" on the program. A box pops up and counts down the sysex bytes as it sends them to... thin air! The BCR just sits there and never receives a single byte from the bcredit program.

Why? What am I missing?? Thanks.

OK, I figured out the problem. The SysID field is off-by-one. If you set it to ID 1 on your BCR, you need to set it to SysID 0 in the program. In other words, you always need to set it one-lower in the program. That fixed it for me!

Is there a way of receiving VSTi-parameter-feedback on the BCR?

Yes, read the doc included with "Cubase SX BCR2000 Channel Control".
I quote: "If you record this using Cubase’s write automation function, and playback you can watch the knobs and faders move. If you use the B-control to send midi cc’s directly to softsynths you will not get this parameter feedback – also you will not be utilizing SX’s excellent automation features which are a lot more flexible, visible and easy to edit than midi cc messages."

I'm so wanting an BCR. Will probably buy it when I go to london shortly (around 50€ cheaper there... :))

Ok all you behringer users

Im wondering whether they work well in sx 3 - which doesnt have the ability to assign generic remotes to control vst

so i'd be using it in mackie emulation mode

could you describe how that works when you want to play with the controls of a vst - is their lots of scrolling to find aprameters

or is their something nice and quick ?
