I'm not a coder, never built anything in Reaktor cause it is too arcane and wouldn't have the first clue how to use Max.David wrote: Fri May 01, 2020 2:25 pmI'm STILL wondering WTF I could ever do in the Bitwig Grid without following many highly detailed step-by-step guides and learning to decipher a host of strange words and concepts. It looks to me like a scaled down but no more obvious version of Max. Which I see from other posts from you in other threads you've got long experience with:)
I've had no trouble doing stuff in Bitwig's Grid. It's easy. Never had to do any tutorials or step by step guides to do lots of basic stuff. I built some synths the very first time I used it.
There is an excellent help guide... drag a module into the Grid or select any module already in the Grid and in the inspector click Show Help. It will pull up help guide in a window with the live module which can be tweaked right in the help window. Best help I've seen.
Drag an Osc, a Filter, an Envelope and an Audio Out into the empty Grid. If you drop the filter onto the Osc output it auto-wires itself. Do the same for the Env to the Filter and the Audio Out to the Env. Now play a note on your midi keyboard and you got a synth. Want 2 Osc's, add a second Osc and a Mixer to mix the two Osc's before going to the Filter. Could hardly be easier.
And of course there are a number of ready made presets to explore. It's the easiest to use modular system I have come across.
