It's worth noting that the oscillator section is modeled after the alpha juno, which is a completely different sounding synth from the 106. I know because I own both lol.
I've never heard a decent emulation of the 106.
The Roland Cloud version is close but anyone that has owned a good working model will know the difference.
Maybe we are far more sensistive to fakes than we realize?
Like in this case Water isn't H20?

the 106 is shit. why would you want to sound like that?

You are entitled to your opinion Dave.
I am just saying I loved mine, it sounded cool. :)

Because it’s not shit. It’s one of the best sounding synths there has ever been.

Yes. Though, even with that, Diva can cover a bunch of what the Roland 106 plugin does. But it needs the correct sub/osc combo tuning which, as you've noted, wasn't included because that section's not actually based on a 106 ;)

So it was a "nice if they'd add" comment.. Along with an improved Roland chorus mode Roland's 106 plugin could then be ditched, just as I'd go with Diva over their Jupiter 8 plugin.. :)

It's really interesting how many people in musician forums still are living in the past, why? :D

By the way, I had a 106 and don't miss it.

Relating to the title, i have got Repro and Diva, and i love both of them. But why not GForce ImpOSCar? or Sonic Projects OP-X II? I wouldn´t dare to advise Knifonium because i haven´t tried that synth yet, but watching some reviews that one seems not sounding bad...

Judging by the amount of interest there is in analogue gear surely there must be something in it.?

I think Dune 3 overall is my favorite vst. It does it all.

It's really interesting to me that some people think that the time period in which an instrument was created has something to do with the sound of it. Or at least that we should take into account it's age as a measure of how much we like it? Makes no sense to me. Is it living in the past to use acoustic guitars, pianos, or violins?

I would love to see a 106 osc mode in Diva's DCO. I suggested that in the U-he forum as well. That would get it very close given that the filter is already there. And of course just add Tal Chorus after. OR one of the others that does a convincing juno chorus. I do like the Roland Cloud version. But stupid cloud.

That's not what I meant, but meanwhile many VST synths are simply sounding much better, I worked a long time with old hardware and I would never go back and I still make also oldschool music! Your and others here problem is, that you still are fixed on that sound from the past from only that gear! And the OP here is fixed from a sound he likes from the u-he plugins and that's okay, but he makes a ridiculous competition list and that's also nonsense!
