CDkeys.com where I bought my Win10 has disappeared before I could download the product, is there another site you would recommend?

I got a nice quiet i7 laptop (3XS) built by SCAN about 7-8 years ago.
It's still quiet & mostly reliable (needed a new screen last year).
I'd likely try them first if I needed a desktop :)

I'm having an issue with my firewire card that I use with my RME fireface 400.

Here is the card I bought: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B004QY ... UTF8&psc=1

I have been talking to my local computer repair shop but they are not sure what's going on either.

Playback is fine - playing youtube videos the sound work normally, but when I am on Zoom, I use a Rode NT-1 external mic plugged into the fireface, and the mic works for about 30seconds then stops working. When it is working for the 30 seconds I get a delay from when I speak into it to when I hear it coming through the speakers.

Is this an issue with the firewire card, or something else?

I have no idea, but suspect some configuration issue or your Windows is broken.
This may help you https://www.studio1productions.com/Arti ... wire-1.htm

Stuff I would try:

- In the motherboard BIOS, disable IOMMU

- In the "Power Options" set PCI Express>Link State Power Management = OFF.

- Disable Windows Hibernate

- Disable Core Isolation and Memory Integrity in Windows 11/10
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/core-iso ... windows-10

- Disable the motherboard onboard sound in the BIOS and uninstall its drivers.

- Uninstall/re-install the current RME drivers and make sure they are updated.

IF all fails, reinstall Windows from scratch.

I was considering SCAN for my next DAW PC... until Brexit happened.
I'm looking at https://i4studio.nl/ now.

Thanks very much Pictus! I will give that a try...

The firmware did not install properly for the RME fireface 400, and I had to turn on phantom power as well, which I didn't use on my previous computer. Its working but there is still a delay...

I have another question about my display port, every once in a while my screen goes black for 2-3 seconds, then comes back on. Sometimes it happens frequently. Its a 15ft cable, so I bought a new 2meter cable but same issue.

I tried an HDMI cable and there was no issue, but the image quality seems a bit less. Any idea what the problem may be?

CDkeys.com is primarily a games retailer, and is most certainly not disappeared.

Those tests might be helpful for a gaming setup, but not for a silent PC build. For the latter, you'd want to run the fans at much lower speeds and there the performance could be different.

I don't know any reviewer who specializes in quiet/silent PCs anymore. SPCR used to do that, but it's dead now.
