As a user since Kirchhoff's release I have to admit that these news don't sound good.
While I have and use a lot of PiA plugins, they usually don't see substantial updates after their release.
Which is a pity in this case since the devs behind Kirchhoff implemented a lot of improvements after the initial release.

One possible smart thing for TBT to do is reduce the price of the EQ low so more people get on board on the speculations about moving it to PA. Then, there would be more users when it goes to PA and more potential PA customers. I am sure there is a lot of purchase-friction right now with this news. Perhaps PA is hyping, but more-so the subscriptions than perpetual licenses. I am a perpetual license kinda guy so I'm holding out right now.

My thoughts exactly.
I was hoping to see this under the psychological $100 barrier come black friday so I'd jump on it... now with PA's shadow looming over it, I'm out.
Sticking to FF or Toneboosters until Kirchoff reaches the ultimate $15 in PA.

nah... that wouldn't be at all the typical PA timeline... about two weeks ago for instance you couldFunky40 wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 1:27 amat PA ?
99$ quite rapidly.
79$ also, but less frequently. Well, not bevore 6 months
Then 49$, ......in this case, not bevore one year.
29$ ? in 2-3 years
my numbers of estimation
get 2x one of many plugins including e.g. Neold Warble - which was less than a year old - for free.

Can you still buy this from the original dev? I know you can at least go through the motions, but I didn't push the final button in case.
In the email from PA it says
Anyone?

So I didn't want my money to go out, and not receive anything, and have to go through the process of reimbursement.Surprise! The most powerful digital EQ in the world now exclusively at PA! Available for MEGA XXL subscribers as early as next week. Check the partner info and video!

Answered for myself, went through with the purchase, all good. Now wait to see what PA does to it/with it, and if it's all good buy it on the 4EVA$29.

I am reading that the perpetual license will be available in November. Subscribers just get early access for a couple of weeks. Personally, I think I will grab it one I can get it for around $50 from PA. I would have bought it from TBT sooner or later anyway.

ok, i might have payed a 50$ (for shure!) or a 100$ ( much likely) too much for my KirchEQ copy.
But at least the money went into the developers hands ( i hope).
People who have delivered !
still, very happy i´ve jumped.
but thats a very rare occasion that i think a plugin purchase was SO important for me.
I´d like to notes: i´m glad i had first the pro-Q. It was my eye opener on level 1+2.
i learnt to wipe of my shy, and just go on, and create morph controls.
Now, level 3, hehe......

nothing has been said if PA "takes over", eg. they "selling it" to PA.gondii wrote: Sun Oct 16, 2022 10:20 amThat is a very good point actually.Arrested Developer wrote: Sat Oct 15, 2022 6:38 pm As a user since Kirchhoff's release I have to admit that these news don't sound good.

TBT may still continue developing this under PA, and this is also more likely.
It's the same with MetricAB, UnfiliteredAudio, DearVR, Dmtry Sches etc.
But I think the thing which they gain through going PA is:
- American seller (they may have problems in the future to sell directly from China)
- bigger user base
- PA handles sales/marketing
- PA offers hosting/framework
I think mostly they can only win. Only bad thing for customers is, that updates will be delayed because PA does their own QA (and its apparently often overloaded)

There we go! PA just opened up new subs to Forever 29 ($29/mo and you get a coupon to buy any plugin perpetual for $1). I knew there would have to be a marketing tie in with the Kirtchhoff partnership/deal. They got me... I subscribed. Over-all I think it's a good deal consdering the price and their catalogue and its for perpetual licenses. This essentially should get us K-EQ for $30 the month it's released.

But if you cancel, it says you won't be allowed back on. I was going to buy another one and then cancel it, but am worried that they will kill my other 4EVA29 sub as well.
