Hey thanks! I have all of Andrew Macaulay's stuff but since I paid for the bundle I didn't give it any thought although a CV modulator should be allowed I guess. It's like using/extending a sequencer or an arpeggiator right? I'll try it out. Good one!

That one was free on the modules store so yeah should be fine

I have the music and arrangement done on my entry. But I wrote it in another synth so I could create it quicker without having to learn the VM as I compose.

So I'm half way done and now I have to bring all the midi over to the VM. The only thing I need is a gate modulator (so a chord is chopped). Is there a module this in VM? If not I can use a free plugin?

I would go with a good old LFO with a square wave, perhaps in turn rate-modulated by another LFO.
Good luck

I got the gate thing worked out. I simply edited the notes to create gate chord chops. Took a while but it worked. Been working non-stop and forgot to eat dinner! Midi editing in S16 is great.

VM had stuck notes in Studio One. Had to close/re-open S1 a few times. I had an instance of VM and it's LFO seemed to be adjusting another instance of VM. Had to bounce that track to audio. I might have had something set wrong though.

I have an incredible snare sound in S1 I want to try and create in VM. To me VM is very analog sounding which I like a lot, and acts very 'sensitive' just like analog hardware too.

Over 20 hours and it's done except adding some phasing to the bass if I can, and creating drum sounds.

A phaser might be on the edge of being allowed, but you can create a flanger within VM with a very short delay and feedback… The sound would be comparable…

Thanks, rules state phasing and flanging is not allowed unless it comes from the synth. I knew that. I had assumed free VM had some type of phasing or flanging, I haven't checked yet. If not it's ok.

H all
Vacation ends. My entry for this month:

https://soundcloud.com/audio-dsp/audio- ... al_sharing

It was an interesting experience to build every sound by simple modules.

I used:

From Voltage Modular (19 instances):
Nucleus modules
Dust (Hetrick)
Crackle (Hetrick)
Neon Hologram (Synthetic Future X R_Wave)
Audafe Formant Filter (audafe)

and effects:

A1TriggerGate
Valhalla Supermassive
Cubase (Compressor, RoomWorks, Revelation, StereoEnhancer, FXModulator, MultiDelay)

Still having stuck note in Studio One 6 sometimes on one track. The last note played will stick on. I close/reopen the project and it's still stuck. I close Studio One, end task if running, reopen, and the moment I load the project the last note is still playing!

Tip- the easiest temp fix I found was to create a volume automation and set it to zero when VM is not playing.

"STATUS OF HIGH VOLTAGE RELAYS"
MICHAEL JOHN (aka Mike777)

My entry, I guess it's a mix of euphoric synth pop and a bit of techno:

DAW: Studio One 6
Voltage Modular: 16 instances
Effects: Studio One 6 reverb and delay
Midi Arpeggiator: RandARP free

This piece is a tribute of sorts to the power plant technicians and electricians that check, maintain, and repair the high power relay switches that keep the power grid running. The relays are essential to switch power away from any problem area on the grid. They must be working at all times. Thanks to them we have power and can share music!

Never thought I'd see love for electrical apparatus maintenance on here! I work on the master station in the control room, and yes, electrical switches are critical to keeping the power on, telecontrol ring main units are essential. Unsung heroes indeed.

Pleasantly shocked! I was wondering if someone around might be in this field! What got me thinking about this is an electrician friend in the band. He would sometimes even miss a gig because of work. He did some work at a nuke plant a few years ago. Got me wondering how it all works.

Could ask you about the 61850's, what voltage can they work with? PM if you want so we don't derail the thread.
