Yesterday during a producing session it restarted itself and updated. All the sound was crackling, fortunately it didn't crash the session. This has windows update vibes now. Not good.

I keep UA Connect closed unless I'm installing/updating. It does still update itself somehow occasionally.

Just uninstall it entirely imo (unless you're on Spark? I guess..) that's what I do and when a 14$ bargin bin deal comes along I reinstall it, install the plugin and uninstall it again. I haven't hand a single problem doing it this way.

... and at this rate idk if I'll ever reinstall it again, lol. Maybe their CEO has gambling debts or got wrecked by the FTX scandal but in any case UA has beclowned themselves. Idk if it was intentional or just unreal incompetence but WOW. At this point I almost wonder if they're aiming to devalue not only their plugins but the entire plugin market.
Congrats to those who grabbed the $150 signature deal tho for real, I'm both happy and envious. On the plus side everyone regardless what you paid at least have some nice plugs which, unlike something like the FTX scandal, can say got something of value for your money no matter how much you paid.

Beclowned is a great turn of phrase. I think the best deal in all of this was Ultimate 12 for $199.95 if you could get it. Signature for under $150 from Plugin Discounts is great too though. Functionally those two are identical right now, but if UAD does not implode from the black hole they are creating in their own market, there are a lot of great UAD tools still to come to the UADx side of things and I reckon it'll be the gift that keeps on giving.
Might be $99 at Christmas no strings attached, but it'll keep on giving.

got the $150 offer today, but already spent $450 in single plugins this year + essential bundle recently, so it's only fair, having paid $600 in all for signature. If this wouldn't have happened it would be kinda sad not having even an upgrade option to signature from Essential Bundle.
Anyway, the Izotope upgrade deal this year wasn't bad either, $40 I got Nectar 4 and Ozone 11 Adv from MPS5 from last year.
Last year I got Everything Bundle for ~$200. But had already spent 300+ the year before, so also a lot.
With these big companies now you have to wait and gamble for these glitches, otherwise they'll only support new customers. Same with PA last year where they offered All Bundle for 299, but I already had 99% of the included plugins. List continues of offers by Arturia, NI etc. where you pay more when buying each version update etc.
In the end if you're using the plugins a lot and get money for it, you win, if you are hobbyist/collector, you lose

You'd think they'd do that ASAP, after they pulled all the deals last week and it was a whole circus with multiple rounds of them coming online and then going away, but the post above yours suggests maybe not. I really don't know though, ymmv, at your own risk, if ten people jumped off a bridge would you, etc.jamcat wrote: Tue Nov 21, 2023 11:40 am Did UA finally implement an eligibility check for the Ultimate 12 upgrade?

Is this the AI will run the music industry, so why not give it away practically sale?
