A totally valid question! We live and breathe music tech, and have big plans for this decade and beyond, so we're not going anywhere anytime soon :wink:

In the case that we were forced to cease operation, which would be extraordinarily unlikely, we would aim to keep the servers active for an extended period of time and release versions of the plugins which don't require the checks.

Brilliant! Let’s get that in writing, complete with a royal wax seal. Maybe even a video confession from the CEO, under oath, holding a family heirloom while promising to maintain access to this plugin for eternity. You know, just in case..!

@Lunacy Audio:
I somehow missed the intro sale by a few hours... Any chance you might have a Black Friday sale coming up? I’d love to catch a deal before the year ends! :party:

Curious- I see this is rent to own via Plugin Boutique and as there is no demo (afaik), I'd probably subscribe for a month to see how I feel about it. Hard to tell if the version on PB contains the time module?

Thanks but was referring to the rent-to-own version.

I just noticed that there are add-ons or extensions, called 'nodes,' that are not included in Beam. When were these introduced? Somehow I missed the shift to this extension model and thought that by buying the plugin, I would have everything included. To be honest, I’m not sure how I feel about it. Why should I pay extra for a 'Time' node? And how many more nodes can we expect? Will there be a new bundle price every time a new one is released? Do we have to pay extra each time a new node comes out?
I wish the developer had been more transparent about this. I would have preferred to pay for preset packs instead of nodes. It’s very confusing, and honestly, I’m a bit disappointed.

About a month ago I believe. I think offering addons was always the intention. Having them be the same price as the entire base plugin on sale is a little ridiculous and is giving me pause on picking it up. I think $20 would be a fair price.

I bought Beam when the Time module was released because I found it interesting enough, but after the purchase I found out that Time wasn't included and bought it separately which felt strange.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I can’t stand it when a developer tries to pull their customers into a pay model without being fully transparent about their intentions from the start. It just leaves a bad taste when you buy something expecting a complete package, only to find out later that essential features are locked behind additional costs.

Yep. I got Cube, but this is the reason I didn't get Beam too. With all the potential 'nodes' they can add on to this, it could easily end up being the most expensive FX plugin out there.

Im late to the party and just started looking into Beam today. Hard pass on the "micro payments" which in this case falls under the category "big-micro payments" :hihi: , Just imagine if the majority of effects in Devious Machines Infiltrator 2 was pay-to-play :o

You mean like Kilohearts Phase Plant? New Beam effects don't have to be purchased. Just weight the value of them to the cost. It works for Kilohearts. Look at it as the cost of a new effect, let alone its integration with larger tools, like Phase Plant or Multipass.
