zarf wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 11:09 am Hey everyone
I just downloaded the synth :) And I still have other stuff I must do today... but going to try to get something in. I doubt it will be my best work (not that that makes much difference - I've never managed to win top spot in too-many-attempts-to-count ha ha) So maybe a track later... good luck all
I'm going to be seriously impressed if you finish a track in one day of downloading Myth. Not the easiest to learn. Has the sample/Iris part. The physical modeling. And then a regular part. It does have 1000 presets if you just want to use those, which is fine, but I don't recall you being a "preseter" much. Has a tutorial in the synth. But that itself could eat up a good part of day, for some of us anyway. Tuning can be an issue FYI. But can have a really great sound. Very impressive synth.
thanks! we'll see
Busy trying to learn the basics. Might have to resort to presets. or abandon ship! :tu:

Hey every one Here is my track:
https://soundcloud.com/the-broken-machi ... icalboxjam

13 instances of Myth.
Bass: self made from self recorded Guitar
Sub Bass: DATABROTH - Sub Dirt (factorypatch)
Main Hats: self made - no iris
secondary Hats: Rich - Hat (factory patch slightly changed Mostly added filter for automation)
2x Snares: self made, resynthesized a snare made with Myth without iris
Ghost Kicks: SPEKTRALISK -ZERUS MECH ADVANCED (factory Patch)
Kick: self made, from self made sine sweep sample
Noisy Fx: self made, from self recorded Guitar
Arps: Selfmade no iris used
Distorted Pad: self made from myth with no iris, and several resynthesises in a row
Pad: Sound Author - ELVEN TOMB
Melody Chord Arp thingy: Based on DATABROTH - BLISS with several changes

DAW: Ableton Live 12.1 Suite
no mixing/mastering
no non-Myth Plugins

less than 1 Day of work

BTW: Since I din't have the Time/Energy to do a proper production, I was going for a little raw jam. which reminded me of the good old cheap groovebox times way back in time. So It was some fun, but its by far not a modern well produced track and it never was meant to be. I like it flaws. And its also not the kind of music I usually do.

As I'm in a rush, a rules clearification please.
Am I allowed to resynthesise in iris from commercial sound libraries that I own (i.e no copyright issue, but use of commercial owned sounds)
Is that fine, frowned upon, or barred please?

Hi everyone, here is my entry for the month:

https://soundcloud.com/yuma-403920796/tenuous-creep

Walking back from the club in the dead of night, mildly drunk and still a bit high, you get that feeling of slight paranoïa that makes you hasten your step for no particular reason.

Ableton Live 11
16 instances of Myth

3rd party plugins:
Valhalla Supermassive, MAutopan, Native Instruments Replika, Izotope Vinyl, FKFX Influx (2021), AnalogObsession Britpressor

The rest is either bread and butter stock plugins or from the synth itself.

AFAIK, copyright was the only limiting factor regarding sampled material this month. Good luck ! 🍀

I managed to fix the issue with the embedded player thanks to @ELEX

This synth comes with a massive sound design rabbit hole so this month's effort might be biased towards sound design with a rather more lame composition than usual. Created in Bitwig Studio 5.2.7. All patches were created from init and used various samples including vocal phrases, oohs and aahs, my dog barking, a wok lid, hitting metal things and at least one sample generated with Deep Sampler. There might be a patch in there using audio dragged from another patch too... In addition to that, although most tracks were almost exclusively using the synth's built in effects, the following plugins were also used:

- Myth x 19

- Valhalla Supermassive
- TDR Nova
- TDR Kotelnikov
- dpMeter 5
- Blue Cat Gain 3
- KClip Zero

Use anything that you're allowed to use, ie royalty free or made/recorded yourself.

Okay, here's a last second squeeze-out. Strange little adventure...

#instances: 20
DAW: MuLab (www.mutools.com)
FX: Auburn Sounds Panagement 2, TDR SlickEQ, Deelay, Supermassive, A1StereoControl, Dynamic Expander, Overtone GEQ, Cramit, LoudMax

I did use Vital and Synthesizer V to create the vocals for re-synthesizing in Myth and plenty of curiously entertaining experiments to play them, both melodically and especially timing. Kind of fun. If it could do all this "smoothly" it would be extra exciting for that sort of stuff, but yeah... not what it's about, is it.

Anyway, hope you don't mind this quickie.
