Yeah. I've never had one of their freebies expire or anything.

I'd guess by making a relatively dense envelope with a short ish time constant. So it comes on and just shuts off after whatever amount of time. So probably less envelope all around.aMUSEd wrote: Wed Apr 30, 2025 9:51 pmOK I get how to reverse it but how do you make it act like it's gated? There's no on/off or threshold etckraster wrote: Wed Apr 30, 2025 7:19 pmYeah.Ah_Dziz wrote: Wed Apr 30, 2025 6:16 pmIt doesn't use feedback. You can manipulate the shape of the entire tap network and make it gated or reverse or whatever. I watched the sound toys guy screwing around with it in a video. But the main thing was you're adjusting the envelope of just a ton of delay taps, graphically.aMUSEd wrote: Wed Apr 30, 2025 5:21 pm I'm guessing some control over gating for sure - it has gated presets but I can't seem to find any way to manage gating (Some Soundtoys plugins have hidden control panels but I've been clicking all over the GUI and can't find any)
Edit: the point of all that being that you should be able to get any dynamic envelope without using any further dynamics processes
The X axis of the control dot controls the shape of the amplitude envelope. The further right the more you have a swell. At extreme right it sounds reversed. The Y axis controls how much the amplitude envelope effects the signal. At the top there is no amplitude shaping and at the bottom it's max.
The time is a constant.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

Thought it was some granular delay but it's more of an ambient reverb.
3 things I'd add:
1. a lockable mix knob
2. silence & empty buffers when switching presets
3. HP and LP filters ~ in that order (it annoys me to see LP on the left, and ideally knobs are mirrored, ie HP full left and LP full right mean no filter engaged, like on Supermassive for instance. This point being the only very minor gripe I have with U-HE UX which is otherwise just amazing)
It will not replace any reverb nor Supermassive, but it can create interesting long ambiences indeed, especially for shoegaze, some EDM, soundtrack work etc...

Has anyone compared this to ADPTR Utopia?

…or a horizontal slider with the HP on the left, LP on the right, and both of them can cover the full range (up to the point where one slider bumps against the other) to allow filtering up to the full spectrum in either direction. Either, I like the idea.paramita123 wrote: Thu May 01, 2025 3:59 am 3. I haven't tried Utopia but it has many more controls.
Space Blender can be tweaked and has a few modes such as backwards, swells, granular-ish types. But it would require more controls and functions for me to even think of purchasing it in this crowded reverb plugin space.
That is a great suggestioncryophonik wrote: Thu May 01, 2025 4:44 am …or a horizontal slider with the HP on the left, LP on the right, and both of them can cover the full range (up to the point where one slider bumps against the other) to allow filtering up to the full spectrum in either direction. I wish Urs could consider one of these two for future U-HE GUI designs, to clarify where is low and high

Kraster. I should probably not try to explain this (and I am not lying). It makes me feel sick when i look at the text (presets area). Especially when focusing on words in the presets browser. There is sort of an "optical illusion" happening (like the letters are ultra slightly moving.... "dancing"). Yes, as I said.... best not to try explaining this as I would prolly need to take on the flame suite afterwardskraster wrote: Wed Apr 30, 2025 11:07 pmthey seem to be using rasterised elements on the UI with some aggressive antialiasing (graphical) when you enlarge it. hence the blurriness.modularmoog wrote: Wed Apr 30, 2025 9:52 pm I forgot to mention, mac ventura here. 3340x1440....
Funny, no other plugins have this issue (apart from known plugins that needs GUI fix)
Still though, it's free and the plugin isn't particularly dense in terms of controls so it's not the worst thing in the world.
Anyways, To me it is bad. Can I continue use the plugin(s) from Soundtoys, YES.
I will give it a thought to send them an support ticket. But from what I understand they dont really listen.
I bought and own all Soundtoys plugins (so at least I have a reason to complaint) :-O
As for processors.... yes they are great. I like Soundtoys for that reason. But it is not clear to me why big experienced devs like Soundtoys seem to mess up GUI stuff

That sounds like pixel crawl from bad anti aliasing.modularmoog wrote: Thu May 01, 2025 8:40 amKraster. I should probably not try to explain this (and I am not lying). On my system the text gets very blurry.

So this plugin is version 5.5.0 as opposed to 5.4.3 for the rest of the Soundtoys suite AND it has scaleable interface. Should I raise my hopes up?

V5.5 will come at the end of may .
So far I'm super satisfied with any plug-in on my 27" 4K monitor running in retina mode

They'll probably release a PRO version later which costs more than this version (after May 22).

It's a fun little device. it's a bit niche in it's uses, but for creating drones out of anything, creating transition effects, swells etc it's really handy.

I assume you watched the video and saw the key modifiers pertinent to your OS to achieve this?
